Good in every way
This is a great little book about art, and how it's not some stuffy, grand thing that's only found in museums. Art is something we can all do, and it can convey a message in ways that words cannot always achieve. The text is meaningful, and the book itself is well made of high quality materials. Smooth paper and a great cover. I'm glad I bought this book, and I'm going to take a look at the others in the series.

Quick, Accessible, Thoughtful, Engaging.
I first heard about Drew at the American Alliance of Museum conference in New Orleans. Her presence there was a breath of fresh air, she was open and thought-provoking. I immediately followed her on Instagram and have been looking forward to this release. This book is so brilliant and engaging that I didn’t put it down until I finished. It’s an easy, short read too so no excuse! Her style is very approachable and her advice is very inspiring for students, art lovers and museum workers like myself. In addition to her own story, she brings attention to black artists and encourages the reader to learn about them and search for more. I’ve learned so much and am inspired to continue finding more.

Quick but Thought Provoking Read
A quick read; very though provoking. Wonderful for art lovers, museum workers, students of art/art history/museum studies, and how art can be used as a powerful tool toward activism.

Compelling personal narrative - I was left wanting more!
Kim Drew reveals her personal journey navigating the white art world as a Black woman. I found myself pausing to google the artists mentioned throughout the text. I look forward to seeing what she does in the future. She will continue to bridge advocacy and activism with the her passion for art.

Excellent, True, Mind-Stretching
I wish that I had a book like this when I was in college, trying to dream up who to be, where to go in life, and how to help others figure out the same. It’s a breezy read too, which means you have no excuse not to read this one—and soon.

Short but Sweet
Ordered it after seeing it on Song of Style. Really enjoyed reading about her experience and helped me understand how a young Black women feels in the working world, especially in art. It's extremely easy to read and because it's so short, you can read it in one sitting. I highly recommend it.
