Loos Cableware EY1-2X Stainless Steel Marine Eye End for 1/16" Diameter Wire Rope

This is the greatest little item. I have a screened-in porch with a swinging door, which naturally sags a bit. To keep it aligned perfectly, I bought stainless steel cable and a stainless turnbuckle to make a diagonal support. The problem is securing the cable at both ends. The usual method of using crimping sleeves and cable thimbles is ugly and leaves the ends of the wire exposed (slightly) which could snag clothing or a child's hand.With these marine eye ends, the wire is completely enclosed, absolutely no frayed strands exposed, and it is very smooth and professional looking. The only thing is that you need a crimping tool to lock the wire into the eye. After looking at the hardware stores, I realized that the special tool is exactly the same as a bolt-cutter, but with a small round indentation along the jaws to fit the eye into. I have an old bolt cutter which I modified with a dremel tool to make the indentations. I was unsure, but the end result is as good as I had hoped for.I presume that this item is made in the USA, because the machining and finished edges of this admittedly tiny item are absolutely fantastic. The metal itself is not a cheap, soft version of stainless steel. It is hardened and will definitely hold up over time.

I have a Honda lawn mower, and the cable end broke off the cable speed adjuster. So I installed this new cable end to the cable, and it works like new. The ss is difficult to crimp, I used my hand hydraulic crimper, and just squeezed it between the edge of any die---it is 16Ton, but any hydraulic press might work ---all I know, it was a challenge for me to come up with a solution, because the usual hand crimper did not work at all.

I'd like to know the dimension of each measurements, length, eye size, can you provide us that? I don't want keep on return order is the dimension does not match the application.

This is Marine grade and is much stronger than the lighter duty MS20668-2. It was straight forward to install and has worked great.

Using a hydraulic crimping tool I swaged the Marine Eye onto a 3/32 in. stainless rope. See picture. (The "fatter" looking one is the Amazon piece.)So far it has held up. This is a very high quality piece.
