Review: Looks great, not for rough play. - I ordered this shield for my son who dressed up as Link for Halloween. The shield helped bring his whole outfit together and looked really nice. The only thing I thought could be better was the durability of the sheild . If the plastic was just a little thicker it would have made the purchase more enticing. He used it for several events and so far it has held up fine. It is not super thin, just could have been thicker so it could be used more for play. He is about 5'3" and the straps fit, but were tight. It looked really neat on his back like Link carries it when not in use. A nice added feature. Overall I would say this shield is great, just don't use it for rougher play.

**Q: Is it made out of foam?**
A: Nope, hard plastic. Just arrived today. It’s a kids toy so it’s not resiliently hard plastic.

**Q: What are the measurements of the shield?**
A: 19"L x 15"W x 3.5"D.

**Q: Does it have a strap on the back?**
A: Yes, two straps parallel to each other are on the back. They are adjustable elastic.

**Q: Would this be good for a ren fest?**
A: I've worked at Ren Faires. They are only picky when it comes to the actors dressing authentically and usually the vendors needs to get as close as they can. Faire goers... you can dress up in anything you want to, including Link (we've had DC and Marvel characters come through). It's the SCA participation that requires dressing in strict period costumes.  For added fun, get into character, you are a visitor, from far off kingdom- the actors, some of the merchants, and other faire goers will role play along- Just don't break our merchandise, we will act medieval on ya ;)

This was flimsier than I was expecting, but it definitely looks cool. I may try reinforcing this so that it doesn’t break the first time it takes a play sword hit.
