The hilt is metal and the blade is steel so it's looks and feels pretty real, the swors is a bit short though doesn't exactly feel full size

It looks and feels real but it is not sharp. Not for kids!

Can you remove it from the plaque?

Yes. We hung the plaque on the wall as a place to store the sword, but you can take it off the plaque very easily. It's just resting on two pegs.

Can you remove it from the plaque?

Yes! I actually lost the plaque and just have the sword now.
