Molly and Me: An Extraordinary Tale of Second Chances and How a Dog and Her Owner Became the Ultimate Pet-Detective Duo

A friend recommend this book to me and I am so pleased that she did. This is a wonderful story about a very clever dog and a very special relationship between her and her 'owner'. I use scare quotes around the word 'owner' as this is not so much a 'man-and-dog' situation as team-mates and friends scenario. It is very well written in that, though it is full of pathos and emotion, it is not slushy. I could not put it down and did not want it to end; partly because I found the stories so intriguing but mainly, I think, because of the relationship and the reality of characters. It is, truly, wonderful that there should be such dogs as Molly - and other working animals.

I could not wait to pick up my kindle and carry on reading were i left off. This true story had me feeling sad, happy and excited and I seemed to be feeling exactly what the author was feeling. It is a really lovely story and a fantastic read

Great light reading. Colin Butcher draws you in with detail and starts by telling you how his agencies came about. Molly is a delight

The most fascinating and heartfelt book I have read in a long time!The passion and love Colin shows for animals can be truly felt during this read.Such an intriguing story to find his partner in crime and a remarkable journey to get that final partnership.This duo do an amazing job!

Quite a nice tale of a reL dog who was able to find missing pets. Tho cats would not have been found and returned to their worried owners without the help of the dog.

What an incredible book ‘Molly & Me’, an easy read, fascinating, informative and emotional. I am not a cat or dog owner, as a child only had a tortoise and fish!!!! But my husbands father owned cocker spaniels and so I can understand and relate to the characteristics Colin explains and the heartaches of losing a pet, a dear friend, a part of the family. What a compelling read about how Colin followed his dream and had true self-belief that he could train a dog to help find lost cats and pets. Definitely the ultimate pet- detective duo.A must read for anyone. Thank you Colin and of course Molly - Barbara

Very nice book light reading

This was an enjoyable easy to read book. Mr butcher worked for the police force and this is where he picked up his detective skills. He began his own business looking for lost pets and he found that he needed a dog which could find cats. This is where molly appears in the book. After a long search and a lot of training molly was the dog for the job. Many different cases of missing pets are discussed and the success rate for finding them, ( which molly and Mr Butcher does ) is high.

You never know what an animal can do until you try to teach them something normally not in their repertoire. In this case Molly the cocker spaniel becomes a cat finder instead of chaser. She not only finds cats but other lost pets too. a terrific book for everyone to read.

Gift for dog and cat lover.

What a wonderful book. Well written and highly readable, I was sorry when I reached the end. Molly is an amazing dog and her story is well worth the read. I hope there is a sequel soon!

Wonderful book

An interesting read about a very loveable and clever little cocker spaniel, and her dedicated owner who was so determined to see the fulfilment of his lost cat detection business come to fruition.
