We used it comfortably when my baby was around 8–9 months old but I think it may become harder to use as babies get more active. This thermometer is a must have. When my babies are little (at least under 1), I only trust using a rectal thermometer because that gives the most accurate reading. This thermometer is easy to use and works just like it should. I’ve bought it for multiple baby shower gifts as well.

I loved this and it gave me so much peace of mind but after a couple months it started reading very low. I almost took my 3 month old to the ER when I took his temperature cause he seemed a little off. The temperature kept consistently reading as 95°. A nurse over the phone recommended I used a different thermometer and it read a normal temperature. He was fine, but it caused so much anxiety for me. It’s possible that it just needs new batteries, but I didn’t use it very many times before it started acting up so that was very disappointing.
