Gustaf's Dutch Schuinzout Diamond Salt Licorice, 2.2 lb Bag in a BlackTie Box

A friend of mine lived in Holland as a child.She couldnt find authentic salt licorice.This is what she remembered as a child.For those that never tried it its not what youre used and may not like it.

This was a one kilo (about 2.5 lb box); if there is one thing that I would suggest, it's that this be packaged in smaller amounts. I wasn't sure if I would like it (luckily, I do), and it would have been nice to try a smaller amount first (just in case).Also, this licorice is gluten free ... hard to find anywhere in the US (this is a Dutch product). Tastes yummy, and will last me a long time (eating a single piece takes a few minutes; can't imagine how long it would take to sit down and eat the entire kilo ... ). See discussion below.,This is real licorice (not anise flavored gummy stuff laced with corn syrup). It also isn't a quick snack ... the individual pieces are quite large, and must be savored until they soften and melt. Jump right in and chew them ... you'll find your teeth locked together, leaving you unable to talk. (if you're a mouth breather, beware ... you'll have to breathe through your ears for awhile if you go the route of a chew instead of a savor ... ). The individual pieces are black as coal and have a REALLY strong licorice flavor. The first few pieces on top were quite salty, but as I work my way down into the box, they are becoming considerably less salty.Would highly recommend to anyone who is a licorice lover (especially if you are a gluten sensitive licorice lover)!

Like it a lot. I am more partial to a little more intense salty Dutch Licorice, in coin form, a little firmer & thinner. These are milder, thicker & diamond shaped, but still yummy.

These double zout diamonds are the same ones my grandpa used to bring us back from Holland growing up. Absolutely delicious and very fresh.

loved this, reminded me of my childhood in europe, very delicious, price was much lower than i had paid with a different vendor. product is thicker and diamond are quit a bit larger than the small diamonds i was familiar with, but they are delicious great product. love it
