I’ve only had it for a week and have only gotten to try it twice so far, but I’m truly happy with it! Once you know the process, it is quick and easy to put together! The whole boat fits in the trunk of my Toyota Corolla with room to spare! I put, the rest of the gear on my backseat! For on the water, it comes with oars that attach to permanent rods that hold them in place and Velcro straps to keep the oars close to the side of the boat! It’s very easy to row, and handles surprisingly well! Although the wind does tend to push it around a bit due to its large pontoon sides! Because of this I use a Newport 55lb thrust trolling motor that attaches nicely to the transom mount that also comes with the boat! Powering my Newport motor is a 12V 50ah Life PO4 deep cycle lithium battery! Don’t bother with a lead acid battery! Lithium is much better! Does it creak and flex when you're moving around while sitting? Any problems with the seat and/or mount?** A: I don't think the seat is warranties,my does creak and flex some but nothing more than normal discount seat attachment goes. The mount is sturdy enough for me,at 188 lbs, but the board that's it's mounted on is not. It is starting to bow a little already. Major complaint on the boat is it is not wide enough to hold more gear in the boat. **Q: Can this boat be used in class 3 rapids** A: Thank you for your interest in Sea Eagle Boats. Our 285FPB is not rated for whitewater rapids. **Q: in what country are these made?** A: Why does the weight tag say made in china? **Q: Has anyone tried mounting the seat/floor backward and trolling in reverse for long periods? More comfortable than reaching behind you to steer?** A: I just converted mine I also I converted my minkota c2 55 into a bow mount. I haven’t hit the water yet but I can tell you it looks like this is the way Togo more room more control you aren’t bent in a ackward position trying to steer and fish. Had it out only once so far, but with a 55lbs trolling motor I’m having to steer it a lot to keep it straight-not a problem with my kayak.
