No,It is made in china, all aluminum steel body, very strong parts, only one flaw: the cooling, but if you know how to work it and do not overdo the equipment, super. Well, an $800 Makita, if it cools better, is more expensive, but if you dedicate yourself to occasional demolition, then xtreampower is the best.

Whats the impact force on this hammer?

I’m removing 150 feet of stone off of my house,it tears through the harden joints with little pressure.Does a great job,make sure you give it a break to let it cool off.

I need to break ground and make a trench several meters long and about 3 feet deep in caliche soil. How good would this drill be for that?

Yes, it will work for hardpan. I rented a similar model and had no problem. But I gave up after breaking up 4' of hardpan. Apparently hardpan can go 100' in Sacramento.
