Mentholatum (R) Natural Ice (R) Sport Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Medicated Lip Balm - 12 Pack of 4.2 g Tubes

My lips are soft because of this amazing lip balm! I found this stuff probably over 5 years ago when nothing else worked to keep my lips from not going chapped. I went on a buying spree of all the lip balms on the market at the time and this was one of the ones in my purchases and the only one I really liked that worked incredibly well. I was really bummed when they stopped carrying the "sport" type in retail stores. Lucky for me, amazon carries it! What really sold me on it is that it isn't sticky feeling. The "sport" kind with the spf 30 is thinner feeling than the regular. It goes on really smooth and thin and doesn't feel sticky or waxy. It's not a heavy lip balm at all but it WORKS! The cooling effect feels nice on my lips. I often buy this 12pk and gift them away in the winter months! But I really use it year round with summer sun protection. One of my nieces had really chapped lips, so bad I remembered that it was red and irritated and flaky around her lips too. She tried a lot of different lip balms but nothing really worked so I gave her a tube of this stuff and within a few days of continuous use, her lips healed up and she says this is the best stuff ever! Every time one of my nieces come over, if they see a tube of this stuff laying around, they will use it and sometimes swipe it! Now I make sure I stock up so I don't ever go without. There's a tube of it in two of the purses I rotate on the regular plus a tube with my makeup case, one on my night stand and one on my desk...there may be a tube in my winter coat too! If you want really soft kissable lips, give this lip balm a try. I really LOVE this stuff, I just ordered another 12pk! :D

Like others have stated in their reviews, I also have been using this for well over 10 years. No one else's lasts as long or can heal chapped lips as fast. It goes on very easily and doesn't feel like you're trying to smear candle wax on your lips.....ok - not that bad, but there's a big difference. I keep mine in one of my shorts, pants, or jeans pockets and body heat makes it even easier to apply. Sometimes it is difficult to find. Years ago I ordered 12 from [...] and that lasted a long time. I didn't know till now that Amazon had it ! I'll be ordering another dozen from Amazon ! I haven't searched, so in case Amazon also sells Mentholatum Ointment (same type product as Vick's Vapo-rub).....If my lips gets so dry I get a hairline crack on one of them, a liberal amount of Mentholatum on my lips overnight Completely Heals the crack !

I purchased this for the Mt Everest Base Camp trek (EBC Trek) for the wife a few months ago. The review from her was excellent.The main thing that she liked was that after a few minutes of application, you didnt get the waxy feel on your lips. The fragrance stayed around and wasnt aggressive for prolonged use. The lips didnt chaff a bit and the UV part prevented them from blackening the lips- she didnt want to go around applying sunscreen on the lips (who would anyway)at that altitude... She strongly recommends this. BTW, it stores rather well, and the last one opened this January- didnt have the slightest hint of going bad as many other lip balms do after 3-4 months of storage.

The balm has much more liquid than the original. When I went to put it on my lip, it broke off in chunks. It hadn’t been sitting outside in the sun, so I know it wasn’t melting. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone.

Best chapstick!

This is my favorite lip balm and so glad I could get it for such a great price and in bulk! I use the medicated stick on my dry nose also! It's smooth and soft, and doesn't feel sticky at all. The medicated part gives you a little tingle too.

Lanolin is a waxy substance that it squeezed out of freshly-harvested wool. Many people, including me, are allergic to it. Mentholatum's Natural Ice Sport lip protectant is the only such product I have found that does not contain lanolin. If you use a lot of "chap stick" and have trouble with your face breaking out around your mouth, try this product. It may help. Besides that, it is just my favorite lip balm. It's medicated, so it protects and heals. I've been using Mentholatum products for decades. It's often hard to find, but worth the search. The store where I used to buy it quit carrying it. I was so very happy to find it here at my favorite online store. Thanks Amazon!

I've used the regular Natural Ice SPF 15 for many years. I recently ran out and since you can't seem to find those in any brick and mortar stores I tried a few different brands/types to see if anything could fit as a possible replacement. Chapstick regular, Chapstick moisturizer, Burts Bees (which was almost suitable), Blistex, you name it. A major issue was that many of these almost always left a "taste," so when using it and then drinking a beer, it would definitely change the way things tasted. I found that the regular Natural Ice never did. So fast forward and Amazon was out of the regular and I didn't want to wait, so I decided to just try these ones. It definitely takes some getting used to, as the texture of the Sport is _really_ soft. It feels like it's barely over a cream on the hardness scale. I do like it though and would not hesitate to use this one or the regular Natural Ice.
