Opinel classic
This review is highly subjective because I'm just an Opinel fan. I have several of various sizes and designs. They are classic with the design receiving only minor adjustments (like the addition of the locking ring) in the past 130 years. Opinel are elegant in their simplicity and just pretty knives. I heard they were designated as part of French cultural heritage because of the long history behind them. Culturally I compare them to Victorinox of Switzerland (just without the added utility of a thousand tools besides the knife). They remind me of a grandpa knife. Not the most robust design but they take and keep an edge very well. For someone who uses a knife sparingly or for moderate knife tasks its great. I carry a #8 slim normally and it works for most average normal tasks. The #8 standard design is great for cutting food, cleaning fish, etc. but it seems a little big for carrying in a pocket every, day all the time, especially if there's other stuff in the pocket. I prefer a #7 or #6 for every day.If you're going to pry, scrape, hammer, cut hard wood, etc. then maybe look to a more robust knife.

Classic
Great knife. Definitely a classic. The weight is nice, blade is sharp. Opinels are some the best value knives you can get still todays they are easy to open and the lockup is great.
