This card is labeled a USB PCI-E Adaptor.The card has PCI-E tabs allowing it to be plugged into a PCI-E port on the motherboard but there are no contacts and no PCI-E logic chips on the card. In reality, this is simply a USB pass-through card that provides NO native USB services. You have to plug a USB 3 cable from the motherboard into the card in order to distribute USB services to the provided ports.If you are looking to add USB 3 support to your computer - this card will not do it - beware.

The puny chipset fan was noisy and annoying once I hooked up the power cable.

After installing this device, one of my hard drives would disconnect through out the day and not reconnect until after a reboot. After removing the card I no longer have this issue.

This is NOT a PCIe card, look at the photo, it does not connect to your motherboard's PCIe slot. there are no wires at the PCI connection, it only uses it to "rest" in the spot. I cant figure out what this is but this is basically a USB 3.0 splitter.
