Is this silicone free?

The Cantu Shea Butter is not silicone free. It contains at least one; dimethicone which is short for its longer name. It is a nonsoluble silicone, meaning that it needs to be washed out with a soapy substance instead of just water like the soluble ones. If you're looking to moisturize your hair, I would not suggest using nonsoluble silicones for your hair, as it requires sulfates to wash out. Sulfates can strip your hair of moisture and make it difficult for your hair to retain moisture after washing. If you are planning to apply conditioner daily, I would also advise against any silicone conditioners as the build up can block healthy minerals and the like and may eventually cause breakage.

Is this only good for curly hair? My hair is wavy/straight but very dry with lots of breakage.

Yes, it will work fine on straight/wavy hair and help with the breakage, but I'd use it sparingly or dillute it in a spray bottle with water.

Does it work for low porosity hair (cantu line in general) or shea moisture line is better for low porosity?

Do i put this on my hair wet or dry?

Apply to wet hair after you shampoo. I apply my condition, towel dry and then apply this to the ends and mid sections of my hair. Then I blow dry my hair. I do not apply to the roots or scalp. It can be to greasy. It is a great product!
