I love this denman styling brush for curly/wavy hair. Make sure you watch a tutorial on how to use it beforehand, as this is specifically for styling and if you use it any other way it won’t work the way you want it to. I love that you can customize this brush to suite your specific hair type- I removed 3 rows for creating thicker bunches of waves (I have 2b-2c wavy hair). It is easy to clean since you can take it apart. It feels very durable and has held up to multiple uses so far with no change in quality. The handle is comfortable, it is not too heavy, and the bristled are firm and strong for styling.

To start off, I’d like to say that this brush is amazing. It has changed my hair completely and I use it in curly hair routine almost every single day. I have very thick, course hair that I have find trouble finding good products for, so I am happy that I found out about the Denman brush. The purpose of the Denman brush is to, “define curls, detangle, and smooth the hair,” and I can confirm that the description is accurate, and this brush successfully does what it’s supposed to do. This is gentle alternative of detangling curly hair than a regular paddle brush, which is a big NO for curly girls because paddle brushes can cause damage and breakage to already naturally dry curly hair. The Denman Brush has made it easy for me to get big knots out of my hair without causing split-ends. It also causes my hair to clump together and I love how defined my curls come out because of this brush. There are seven rows on the rubber pad and these rows can be removed to create bigger or smaller curl clumps depending on how many rows are kept in. I love that this brush creates such beautiful curls instead of stringy looking hair. I used to have trouble with my hair never clumping together and it would basically look like “Ramen Noodle” hair, but this brush solved this issue. The Denman brush also smoothens my hair and create a uniform sleek curl and prevents my hair to frizz up. The description also says that this brush is, “ideal for creating tight curls, root lift or for shorter hair,” and I’m happy to agree with this statement as well. My curls do look tighter and have more of a coil when I use this brush in a certain way. I’ve noticed that a lot of people don’t know how to use a Denman brush to create coils and will quickly give it a bad review, but there is a specific way to use it. To achieve coily curls, I brush my hair from underneath and start turning the brush to make a spiral. In other words, I coil my hair around the brush. It’s basically the same process as curling your hair with a flat iron. It also does cause my roots to be more voluminous and prevents my hair from becoming flat and sad. I highly recommend the Denman brush to every curly-headed girl out there because I strongly believe that I will become your best friend and make your curly hair routine way easier.

I have 3A hair and this is my favorite go-to brush. I only use it when my hair is completely wet, and it's great at quickly detangling without pain or breakage. It leaves your curls looking defined and bouncy! I had to buy a second one after my first grew mold, however. Since it's used on wet hair and has a lot of crevaces, it's important to take it apart and give it a clean. I learned my lesson! Once a month, I take it apart and soak it in vinegar for a few hours. So far, so good. It's nice that you can take it apart for cleaning, but even so, some of the smaller crevaces are hard to get into for cleaning.

I have 2c/3a hair, medium to long length, and live in south central US where there is fairly high humidity most of the year. It's taken me a few years of getting used to skipping daily washes and minimizing my blow dryer use, partly b/c I never really knew how to style my hair on air dry days. I'd end up with a frizzy A-frame shaped do, or a lifeless, gel-crusted mop. I tried this brush after seeing it on a master class about hair. The woman with 3c used it to brush through small, damp sections of hair, then twist the section around her finger, let it loose, and then onto the next section. I tried this method, leaving my hair pretty damp and using a good curl cream applied throughout. I used the brush to also go back and gently give some lift from the root once i kind of had it placed where i wanted. I used a light hair spray as I finished each layer of sections. I've been doing this style once or twice a week now for a couple of months. This brush has made the difference in my confidence working with my hair. Even in dead summer the frizz is minimal, my waves/curls keep their shape without necessity of crusty gel, and I have actual definition. Not only has it helped me style on air dry days, my day two style is easier to manage. I can use this to gently brush out the sections to give me a nice, soft wave without it immediately frizzing. If I brush it out the night before and put it up, it's even easier to deal with on day two. I don't exactly understand how the brush does what it does, but I'd absolutely recommend it for wavy hair folks that want to define and control. Besides liking the fact that it works, I like that the brush is light weight, seems pretty durable so far, and is at a good price point. The handle is comfortable and the bristle pad gives. Just a great brush all around.

My husband's favorite brush. Just the right size and doesn't tangled his hair. The bristle are not overly hard to irritate the scalp.

Perfect. I removed rows to suit my needs and it still works perfectly. Easy to use, slimmer design, and glides through the hair no mater how long. The bristles are firm but that’s what I need this specific brush for.

Not sure there is much to say, as this brush is already famous for wet styling. As you’d expect, it’s a great product, the versatility is awesome - you can pull out rows of teeth depending on the result you want, and you can use it in various ways to style your curly hair. I love the lavender and pink color too, I find it nicer than the classic black and red. The only thing to note is that it’s really really difficult to put the rubber part back in if you take it out to remove rows of teeth or deep clean the brush
