What an absolute beauty. The medium nib suits my writing style and the amount of pressure I put on the nib. This was my second attempt at a Sailor Pro Gear and while the first one had issues, this one was exactly what I had hoped for.

Look at 1st pic for review. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this pen you won’t regret it. WORTH EVERY PENNY! It writes like a pencil and it writes so smooth and the medium point dose not scratch at all like the fine point.

This was one of the pens I was really looking forward to getting and using. And a great pen it is! As others have said before, this is not a pen that writes extremely smooth. It feels exactly like if you were to write with a lead pencil, some feedback but very pleasant feeling and sounding. I absolutely love how it writes. The nib did require a bit of tuning as it was writing somewhat dry. After checking it it was just a misaligned tine, no big deal. But what does keep this pen from a full 5 stars is the condition it was in. Now, as I opened the case I saw there was a blue stain towards one corner of the fabric bedding. No problem at first. As I open up the pen I noticed quite a few droplets of ink on the nib and sure enough, there was some drops down the barrel of the pen. It was easy enough to wash it away with water and now I have a nice pristine looking pen. Don't get me wrong, the pen itself is definitely 5 stars and I highly recommend anyone else to get one. The -1 is mostly because the listing said a brand new pen when in reality it might not have been new.

First time I heard or seen a Sailor fountain pen was when I had a layover in Narita airport. I was at the duty free and they had a display of Sailor pens which impressed me. Did some research and only heard good things about them. Luckily, I was able to find this Pro Gear model at a great price so I took the chance and ordered one. I was not disappointed. This beats out the Watermans, Kawecos, Scheaffers, and Diplomat fountain pens I already own or have tried out. Smooth writing and very comfortable to hold. I have since then bought another lesser expensive Sailor fountain pen and that, too, didn't disappoint!

It is an excellent pen, specially if you consider its price point. Writes really well and I have been biased in using it since I got it. One downer for me though is that I thought it would come with a converter, but it didn't. But it still gets a 5 for me

I ordered this fountain pen expecting it to come with the old-style Sailor nib, as advertised. However, it arrived with a new Sailor nib, which has a noticeably scratchier feel—something I don’t prefer. Other sellers usually specify whether their pens have the new or old nib, but this listing did not make it clear. If you’re specifically looking for a Sailor pen with the smoother old nib, this one may disappoint you. Additionally, my pen’s nib had some quality issues. I haven't tested the pen as planning to return.

This is a well-crafted pen; good fit and finish in the construction. It’s comfortable for someone with medium-large hands, although with the cap “posted” on the back my hand sometimes risks pushing it off. The nib is somewhat flexible and will vary the width of the line depending on pressure and angle. I got the fine nib and it is maybe equivalent to an extra-fine or 2x fine on other pens if you write with a light touch. Because of that it’s not going to lay down too much ink and smudge. On the whole it’s a good everyday pen for a fount pen nerd.

The pen was shipped to me in just a few weeks. This is an excellent pen with a beautiful nib. A very smooth and excellent writer!.

I love the fine nib on this. Just the right amount of feedback and wetness. Well Balanced and just the right size.

Sailor does produce very nice out of the box smooth writing pens. And this one is no exception. I ordered it in B nib. And it writes just beautifully. But not smooth as Lamy Safaris. It gives some pleasant feedback. This B nib is thinner than the Lamy B nibs. The best part is no need to immerse the full nib in ink for filling the pen. The feed has a wide opening and this pen feels through it. So no inky fingers. As the size is small, its just perfect for my small hands. I use it un-posted. And love to use it when I write in long sessions. I rate this better than Lamy 2k & pilot Vanishing Point.( Personal opinion) Main drawback is the convertor ink capacity. Its hardly 0.5-0.7 ml. But the work around is buy the cheap Sailor ink cartridges and fill them with ink syringe and use in pen. Overall my best pen. But best way to try them in the William Penn stores. And thanks once agin the Optimus sales corp for making this pen available as cash on delivery for me.

Delivery was awesome coming 1 week earlier than expected. The pen was package well and the pen itself was in perfect condition. The writing experience was more feedbacky than expected and the pen was much smaller than I anticipated. The seller was awesome and the pen is great otherwise.

If you've ever thought fountain pens are temperamental and high maintenance try a Japanese one. Generally Japanese pens are finer for a given stated thickness i.e. medium would be equivalent to a euro/usa fine. I would recommend this pen without reservation to anyone wanting to try a quality fountain pen - whilst the bodies of these pens are nothing special the nibs are extremely good and at this price I doubt any other maker provides a 21kt gold nib.
