Great set of easy-to-use ice cube trays
Perfect set! I love these ice cube trays and that it's a set of 4. I use a lot of ice since I make tea for every morning and want to cool it off so I can drink it right away. They are soft and flexible enough to easily get the ice out, but stiff enough I don't spill water all over when I fill them and put them in the freezer. You do have to put them in a single layer when you first put them in the freezer or they will try to freeze together, but my solution to that was fill two and put them in side by side and let them freeze about half way, then fill the other two and stack those on the first ones. once they are all frozen you can completely stack them one on top of the next and they don't take up much room at all in the freezer! Plus there isn't as much wasted space as there is with traditional ice cube trays, because there is only a small layer of silicon between the cubes rather than two layers of molded plastic. Each tray is about 2/3 the size of a regular ice tray. The cubes come out much easier too! All you do is flip the tray over and push the one or ones you want out with your finger one by one, no twisting and cracking or breaking all of the ice cubes in pieces and scattering them everywhere. You also have to be careful not to over fill them, or they fuse together on the top and don't push out right, but it's easy enough to not get them that full.I highly recommend these ice cube trays!

Makes plenty of ice with minimal problems.
Getting these ice cubes trays was long overdue, we were still using those plastic ice trays like was 1995. Compared to the old trays these have great advantages over plastic and only one of the same downsides. To start, there are four of these trays with 15 slots apiece for a total of 60 cubes. The old plastic trays had 14 slots apiece and come in packs of 2. Getting the cubes out of the tray requires the tray to be twisted. With plastic trays this motion eventually cracks and breaks the tray. With the silicone you have to push the cubes up from the bottom after twisting, but the silicone is flexible so no broken trays.Silicone - 1Plastic - 0These trays produce nice solid 1 inch cubes, these are even and aesthetically pleasing cubes, unless they form imperfectly. The plastic cubes are rectangular and curved at the bottom. Minor nitpicking I know, but some people might need something for a party or display.Silicone - 2Plastic - 0Finally there is the aftertaste that the ice cubes leave when they melt and rate at which they melt. Ice is ice regardless of where it comes from and melts at the same rate with no noticeable difference, unless you want measure the time it takes to melt down to the picosecond or something. As far as aftertaste goes, I was hoping the silicone trays wouldn't have an undesirable aftertaste like the plastic trays, but they do.Silicone - 3Plastic - 1These trays will serve anyone who needs plenty of ice for drinks, food, or other purposes very well and at a low price.

Perfect for freezing homemade baby food
I initially purchased these to freeze my homemade baby food. I was using traditional hard plastic trays which worked well for most foods but not all. Puréed prunes don't freeze completely solid, forcing me to dig them out with a knife. I had to find a better solution. As I do, I came to Amazon to find some silicone ice cubes trays. After digging through review after review of all the models sold, I finally decided on these. I was hesitant though after seeing reviews that claimed it left white particles in their drinks or left a taste of silicone in the cube. I went ahead and ordered them anyway. When they arrived, I decided to test them by making ice first because if those reviews were accurate, I didn't want that to contaminate my baby's food. I'm glad I took a chance because these are perfect! The ice came out wonderful, no smell or taste of silicone at all. Yes, the molds smell like silicone (being made from silicone, what would you expect), but that did not transfer to the ice.The biggest test for me was the frozen puréed prunes. They popped right out with no hesitation! I never made my own ice as I used to just buy bags at the store. Since receiving these, I have not bought a bag of ice since. It makes great cubes.True, you can't twist and dump the ice like the hard plastic ones, but again, what would you expect from floppy silicone. The cubes easily pop out with a push from the bottom.Overall, I highly recommend these. Especially for anyone who makes and freezes their own baby food.
