Beecham Swing Co. Flip-Ware 5 ft. Wood Porch Swing

Overall , we love this swing. Upon arrival, the UPS guy was picking up screws and bolts from his truck. When we opened the box we understood why. The bag the hardware was in was torn open. You would think paying 254.00 for a swing you could ship the hardware in a separate box. There was plenty of room in the crate. Quality control should really look at this. We had to purchase several washers and bolts and nuts.The instructions sheet was just a blow-out of the assembled swing. It looked like it was drawn by a 5th grader. Very hard to decifer.The seat is very uncomfortable on the thighs. I think it needs to be a little deeper. We are going to try adding a piece of moulding to the front of each seat. Hope that makes it a little easier on the legs.Other than that, the swing is awesome. My grandson and I (he is three) love to sit outside in the afternoon and watch the big planes fly over my house. At night, the rest of the family gathers on the patio for conversation and wine, we flip the seat backs over and, WA-LAH, you are facing the patio. Sooooooo cool.One other problem, we just noticed the drink holder has cracked. We assume it is because the wood was not properly dried. Not a big deal.If they would change the packaging, send clearer instructions, we would give this swing 5 stars.

Satisfied overall. There were no directions to speak of, yet we managed to put it together in about an hour. Had a couple do hardware pieces left over, so I hope they were just extras. It isn't the highest quality, but for the price it should do the job. I love the flip feature so we can mix and match directions to either face the water or the TV depending on the situation. Not a fan of the green plastic covered chains, but I can eventually switch them out if the swing lasts. I stained it cedar to match the deck and it looks nice. Add cushions for comfort and you're good to go!

Clever design, mediocre execution. Purchased 5' unit from another web seller for considerably less and am very glad I didn't pay more. Granted, I'm a fan of finishing wood rather than painting it, but suggest you go the paint route on this one. Basic poplar/pine materials are ok but seat base frame is only 1x4 and I'm glad we don't have anyone over 175# in the house. Most pieces have considerable band saw marks and even after sanding w/ 80d paper with sheet sander, still pretty visible. Board edges are pretty sharp and if you plan to stain, sanding is a must. Haven't completed staining/finishing so can't comment of finished product other than to say that if I paid what Amazon is asking for this Made in China mediocrity, I'd have sent it back.IMHO, you're better off upping your price point and getting something made from 2x redwood or cedar framing members. Especially true if unit will be exposed to direct weather or severe dampness. Mine will be mounted under covered entry in So Cal.The hardware for assembly looks to be "ok" but I did replace bench frame screws (appear to be #6 x 2") with Grip Rite #8 x 2.5" exterior type and since I had to remove seat slats to stain edges, am considering same for #6 x 1.5" easily strippable screws there.Would I buy it again? Probably not. Since I already have it and have stained it... I guess I'm keeping it. Should be ok for adult use.

I bought one of these 10 years ago when they were first introduced. It's on the corner of the porch at a 45 degree angle - so I can flip the seats and have two completely different yard views. Excellent idea. Mine has lasted well without any stain or care to speak of. I tightened some nuts and bolts a couple of times is all. The only problem at my house is there are only two seats and there are four people. Everyone wants to sit in it while we're outside. Great product!

Great design. Horrible directions. There were a few extra drill holes from the manufacturer.

It is a very nice swing and all we hoped. However, expect some drilling and it didn't come with all the screws needed. However, had them on hand and was able to fix easy enough.
