Wide feet? Get these.
I have atrociously wide feet. Size 10 4E. I had wided out of biking shoes about 15 years ago. And no one, and I mean no one makes bike shoes for people with Barney Rubble feet.I sat on the fence over getting these for about a year. I’m a dummy. My kona dew hybrid motivated me to try power grips.Pros: once you get the straps installed, it is fantastic near clipless pedal performance. Your feet will once again be a part of your bike’s drivetrain.Cons: You May have to downgrade your current platform pedal to be able to fit the mounting plate.Inbetween: Getting in and out of the straps takes a little practice. Basically, the tighter you wiggle your foot in, the tighter the grip the straps have on your foot.I bought the regular size, and I have about a half inch of slack.I added a pic of my keen sandals because they are the widest shoes I own.Tip: Use loctite on all screws.

Good for trikers!
I use these for safety on my recumbent Catrike. If you slip off a pedal on a trike, it can be a very serious injury. I doubt I would like these as much on a regular two-wheeled bike where whenever you stop your foot has to come off the pedal, usually quickly. That's not the case on a trike where I can stay in the pedals for long periods. These are so comfortable I'm almost not aware I'm in them. They also fit my clunky riding shoes well, since I ride in low hikers instead of cycling shoes.

THE SAFE ALTERNATIVE TO TOECLIPS & STRAPS
Have these on all my bikes. It's dangerous to ride without something keeping your foot on the pedal. If it slips off you can crash. Clipless pedals are a hassle since they only work with cleared shoes. Toe clips are dangerous. If you fall it's hard to remove your foot. I destroyed my ankle that way and needed reconstructive surgery. Power Grips are the best of both. They keep your foot on the pedal for safety and pedaling efficiency. When you need to get your foot off the pedal in a hurry you can. Unlike trendy new straps that only work with platform BMX style pedals, these can be installed on most pedals with holes for reflectors. Usually I buy the pre-assembled pedals with Power Grips already on them but my folding bike has quick release pedals I can't swap. I was dreading putting these on the pedal but it was easier than I feared. I have ridden from Canada to Mexico towing a trailer. Power Grips are the best.

Much better than clips as standard shoes can be used.
Finally replacing my first pair after wearing them out after ten plus years of use. Love these things as they are much easier to use than clips, plus you don't need special shoes that are hard to walk in. Very easy to disengage feet from straps when stopping, just move heels outward a pull out foot. A little harder to engage foot (Ihave to wiggle it in), but I like that you can choose to use them or not while riding the bike. Adjustable. Be aware that hardware does not necessarily work on all pedals though. I had to buy new pedals.

Good product, but difficult to get properly adjusted.
This is a decent product. Fairly easy to install, but took a number of rides to figure out how tight they needed to be adjusted. I purchased the regular size and the straps were very long. I assume you would have to have some very large feet/shoes to need the larger size. I recently had Achilles' tendon surgery and wanted something I could pull my foot out of easily. These work for that but it is somewhat difficult to reinsert your foot while riding. If the pedal flips over while you ride, the strap drags. I also don't think the directions say you must trim the straps to fit. I think I ended up using only half the length of the straps after cutting and adjusting a number of times. They need an easier/faster adjustment system and some type of strap management system.

This is a purchase you will not regret.
My pictures show Power Straps installed on large MTB flat pedals and smaller Shimano SPD flip-flops. Some pedals you may need to run to the hardware store for longer bolts. But with a little patience, they are not hard to install. Buy the larger strap if you want to ride in warm winter boots. When riding, Power Straps work VERY well. Easy in, easy out, more power and stability. With Power Straps, I have never felt a need for clipless pedals and even if you buy four sets of Power Straps for four bikes because you have that many and are a kook like me, it's less expensive than a single pair of SPD shoes. The Power Straps in the MTB photo are 11+ years old and did 5 years of winter commutes in warm boots. They last. A. Long. Time.

Power Grips Pedal Straps
I wanted toe clips or pedal straps for my 8-speed city bike that I ride around The Woodlands (which is pretty flat). Improvements in shoes/clip systems seem to have reduced the alternatives available for people like me who use their bicycles for transportation and want to wear street shoes or people who don't have the need to be clipped to their bicycle. After research and reading reviews I went with Power Grips. They were fairly straightforward to install; although slightly more thoughtful illustrations in the instructions could have simplified the process. The adjustments were easy and I needed zero time to adapt to using the Power Grips. Getting in and out at stops is easy and isn't a distraction at all. They make a big difference in riding, particularly going uphill, where the ability to simultaneously pull and push probably gives me a 2mph improvement in speed and allows me to keep a steadier cadence.I have a 10.5 EEE shoe size and I bought the regular length straps based on the manufacturer's recommendation, which indicated that the regular length would work for shoes up to size 12. The straps are within 1/8 of an inch of being too short for both my athletic shoes and boat shoes; however, and if I were to buy them again I would buy the XL length to accommodate my fat feet.

Bad Fit
Unfortunately they did not fit on the pedals of my new cannondale bike. They should indicate what pedal configuration is required in order to fit properly. Very disappointed.

Too short
They seem okay but I can’t use them with my hiking boots, the regular straps are to short.

These are great! Since I am used to getting my foot ...
Was building a fixie and wanted an alternative to clippless pedals but did not want the old cages which dont work so well with my size 11 shoes. These are great! Since I am used to getting my foot snapped in while moving these were easy to adapt to. Even on a fixed wheel for the first time. Now I can wear whatever shoes I want and have the same secure clipped in feeling. What a simple solution.

Allows the rider to maximize power output without the need and hassle of clipless pedals and cleats.
Great product! This is my second set of Power Grips...first set lasted me 10 years and many thousands of kilometres of touring.
