It does take a while to receive the product but for me it is worth the wait. Now that I order it regularly I receive it sooner now. It comes compressed in a small plastic tray about tha size of your palm. I would say maybe about 15-20 dried stems are compacted in the plastic tray. I boil about 2-3 stems and break apart the pods into the teapot with filtered water and three bags of organic detox tea to boil for 2-3 minutes. I pour the tea with the fruit into a glass jar after it has cooled in the teapot. I like to add a little organic apple cider vinegar, orange or coconut flavored stevia to the tea. The broken pieces of fruit plump up nicely and will break part in the tea if stirred too vigorously. I like to eat the fruit while drinking the tea. It tastes like apricots. I usually refrigerate the jar of tea to drink it throughout the day. It is my favorite drink. Review: All of the deliciousness with none of the hassle! - These are the first I've found that are unspoiled (so many have sugar)...and they taste just like fresh tamarind. I LOVE tamarind, but hate having to hull and de-seed them...and when I could not get them fresh, I resorted to trying preserved ones. I have found these delicious and hassle-free. They are the closest thing to fresh and spare me the annoyance of having to remove the shell and seed....and no weird surprises either! (If you have opened a fresh tamarind and found something not so fresh, you know what I'm talking about!)

Exceeded expectations
After looking at several options for the tamarind fruit, I settled on this one. I was initially apprehensive because it's seedless and I typically avoid seedless fruit. Actually, these are deseeded and dehulled tamarind fruit which was an amazing discovery. The fruit I received was very fresh and I will be getting it again. My local grocers has stopped offering the tamarind and I'm so grateful to have found this here.

expensive meh
Nothing like the unflavored tamarind from Mexico. If you looking for this, like me, move on. If you are expecting texture similar to a date but less sweet, this might be for you.

Pricey, but very tasty! (UPDATED)
I really like this & need the health benefits it’s supposed to have, but it was a real splurge as these two 3.17 oz bags don’t go far at all, so I can’t afford to buy it very often. I wish it sold in larger batches for less per oz. UPDATE: I recently ordered what seemed to be exactly the same but cheaper per pk in a 3 pk but it didn’t taste good. I ordered this one a second time & again it is SO SO good!!!
