Works as expected.
I use this as a wood dye. Vastly better than stain and cheaper than fancy wood dye. I can get the very dark colors I want. Alcohol based so dries instantly and any finish can go over it. No bleed through a year later problems.

Great product!!!
Used it to restore my wife bag, and it is holding for now. Easy to apply, and even if I have to do it again, will do it in a few minutes.

In my opinion concernd, Fiebing's ts the top of the food chain for leather/wood dye
Excellent. The brown dye I bought from Fiebing's works as awesome. I'm impressed with how little you need to use. It works great in everything that I tried it on. Different color leathers ( I had some white scraps so I tried it and it turned it brown like the ad says. So easy to use, dry's super quick, and surprising how little covers so much surface and its obviously durable. I tried it on different color leathers, I used it as a wood stain the hide scratches on my hardwood flooring as a stain for a rug that I previously ruined with a wine spill. Note: absolutely wear gloves if you don't want to have what looks like a henna tattoo gone horribly wrong for days. Wear either an apron or old cloths, do not get it on your carpeted flooring because as mentioned the dye is permanent and you will not be able to remove it. Great product. I have

Don’t be afraid!
Easy to apply, forgiving process. I had never dyed leather before and my couch looks great.

Must strip before dye-ing…
I dare you to read the title of my review aloud to someone without any context. Chances of them laughing are 50-50. Jokes aside, here’s my actual honest review: On light, undyed leather, the dark brown stains beautifully. The original color of my shoes were too light for what I wanted, so Leather Colors worked out great. I used flat brushes, and they still dyed evenly. Once they dried, I used mink oil to protect and darken them further (see natural light photos). Only took off a star because they don’t work as well on all types of leather, even after stripping color dye completely. I’m repurposing pockets from a red handbag, and used nearly double the number of layers of dark brown dye. Initially, the result look okay, but once dry, they were splotchy, meaning the dye penetration wasn’t deep as their Leather Dye or Pro-Dye lines (but those don’t dry as quickly as Leather Colors, and I needed my shoes stat… and LC was all I had on hand). The protective layer of mink oil I gave it helped save the project. Footnote: To be fair, the bag’s original red dye was a deep burgundy. I’ve stripped color from a lot of leather goods before, and this was really hard to do. Could only get it a little lighter. If you’re trying to dye a dark color, keep in mind that it’ll never look as vibrant as the intended color on the bottle. And ignore the red sides— those are vegan leather/pleather, which don’t dye well with the Leather Colors product. I’m going over those with leather paint later. Extra Tip: Hallmark of testing if it’s real leather is to take leather deglazer or nail polish remover to it first, and see if it comes away sticky. If it is pleather, then get acrylic leather paint or house paint. Those will work better. Now go Dye happy.

Fiebing’s never disappoints!
There’s nothing to say about the quality—it speaks for itself. I’m a huge fan of this brand! This dye penetrates leather really well, applies evenly, and leaves a rich, long-lasting color. Plus, since it’s water-based, it’s easier to handle and clean up. I’ve used it on belts, bags, and even furniture, and the results are always excellent. If you’re looking for something reliable, this dye is one of the best.
