Works exactly as described. Makes corner dowels super easy. Fantastic product and I wish I had one years ago.

This is a good tool and does its job well. BUT, it needs more tools for it to work work, like hand clamps & 1/2" MDF board...so its not ready to go outta the box. If you don't have the right clamps prepare for a trip to the store. Also, it is plastic. The directions are great tho' a lot of reading.One complaint: The red locking key broke when it was used the 1st time. How to get a replacement?

My husband builds stuff for so many of us. He decided he wanted to give this a try. Loves how it works and can add a different look to how pieces are joined and attached to one another. Love the look of finished trays he built for me.

As others have said, I broke the lock the first time I used it. I contacted customer support through Amazon inquiring about a replacement. They sent an entirely new kit, instead of just the key. Greatly appreciated, and that created a customer for life. Great job on the tools, but a phenomenal job on helping customers.The tool takes some dialing in to work, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do. And Rockler tools make a world of a difference in speeding up techniques. If you are trying to use this type of doweling skill, then just buy this tool. You will be grateful.

Tbh, this worked really well for first 5 holes, yeah…FIVE….really well actually…and then, the heat, caused by the bit, started to melt the 45deg housing….the last few dowel holes are now misaligned completely(albeit only by 1/8-1/4 in) …I digress, after spending 2 weeks building the most perfect hardwood stereo box, I now have a few holes out of alignment which drives me beyond mad. They should come with replacement inserts for all 3 diameters, or novel idea, make both pieces of all 3 diameter housing inserts metal…how can I get JUST the 3/8 jig?….unfortunately you have to be weary of the heat melting / deforming this product…

doesn't quite fit advertised use. results are a little "off"

Would be nice to have a larger variety of drill sizes, but for the most part this is basically all you need to drill some dowell holes in whatever you're putting holes in :)
