๐ ๏ธ Reinforce your concrete with the future-proof power of basalt fibers!
GlobMarbleโs Basalt Chopped Fibers are ultra-fine (17 microns) basalt strands, 12 mm in length, designed to integrate seamlessly into concrete mixes at 6-8 lbs per cubic yard. These fibers significantly enhance tensile, compressive, and flexural strength while resisting extreme temperatures (-452ยฐF to 1,200ยฐF), alkali, acid, and salt damage. Ideal for commercial-grade concrete reinforcement, they improve crack resistance by up to 170% and boost impact energy absorption by up to 260%, making them a cutting-edge solution for durable, long-lasting concrete applications.

Seems to be helping reduce hairline cracks in ferro-cement
I got this as an additive for making non-ferrous ferrocement. I am still just experimenting at this point, but this does seem to help reduce cracking. It is very challenging to keep thin applications of mortar moist while it cures, especially when it is in direct sun in the summer, so in theory the added fiber should help keep it from shrinking quite so much.

Thin 1โ slab that held super well with vehicle traffic!
This stuff works. It makes a messy slab when wet, but a clean solid one once dry!
