Handy book and Great Price
A must buy for all artists. NOT expensive and the book gets down to the point. It is a reference book and helps the artist with colors.

I Really Needed This
I am just beginning to use watercolors and figuring out how to mix the various colors to achieve the results I want is not something that's easily guessed. This book has done a great job of putting together "recipes" of colors and the component paints that make them up

EXCELLENT!!
Helpful and easy to use. It has allowed our illustrators to work much more efficiently. I would highly recommend that anyone dealing with watercolors have this reference guide. Think of Pantone but for watercolors.

Uses only Winsor Newton paints
This is a nice little book - but only if you use Winsor & Newton paints. This fact is nowhere in the description of the book or on the back of the book. I certainly understand you can't make a book covering every paint out there, but it would be usable by those of us who use other brands to include the pigment name(s) or at least a short description of the color (a medium value, slightly warm red). The other key thing to note is that not only are there lots of repetitions (which I suppose could be userful if you're out of a particular color), it is color mixes of two paints only. I can usually look at 2 paints and have a reasonable guess as to what they'll look like - it's the subtlety of adding a 3rd or even 4th color that I was looking for.If those two things are fine with you, then it's a nice little book with thoughtful touches like a color isolating viewer and a semi-waterproof cover.

All colors you can create!
It comes w a 1/2” opening stencil of card stock to look at the samples. But frustrating for the artist, many of the swatches of color look identical. I think that is due to the printing process because when you mix your watercolors, there are subtle nuances that show that are not showing in the book I bought a book for me and I bought one for my sister, who I am trying to teach watercolor, I am only a beginner myself, but I know what I can see and what I can’t. It is very much a great number of colors. I wish they had made the window viewer out of plastic not paper. But it came very fast !
