Products 20% DEET Premium Family Insect Repellent Controlled Release

I selected this bottle of Sawyer Products brand 20% Deet Family insect Repellant liquid because we were dealing with mosquito bites both onside and outside of my house starting in June 2026. This product proved to be effective and easy to apply. It is the consistency of lotion, and it applies like lotion. I like this because this makes it easy to be sure that I get full coverage with my application. It has a neutral smell, and it has no sting or negative feeling upon application. Yes, it reduced the number of insect bites by a lot. It worked so well that I ordered this product a second time, and it is now part of my permanent arsenal against mosquitoes!

I found this product from a TikTok recommendation and almost didn’t buy it because I usually only use spray repellents. I was very skeptical about a cream. I am officially eating my words. When I tell you this is the best insect repellent I have ever used, I am not exaggerating. You do not need a lot at all. It is not a lotion. A tiny amount goes a long way. I rubbed a small dab between my hands and applied it to my arms and legs and that was it. No bites. None. I was basically invisible to mosquitoes. It feels secure without being greasy, heavy, or overwhelming, and the controlled-release formula clearly does its job. This is now my go-to repellent and I will absolutely be repurchasing. Final note because it matters: you truly only need the tiniest amount. Rub it on your hands first, then apply to skin, and you are good to go. Definitely recommend.

Very little scent and I think it works very well to keep bugs from biting. However, the lotion is a weird consistency. I'm not sure if I got an old bottle or perhaps it reacted to the heat in shipping, but it separated into a very thick clear gel (like petroleum jelly) and a very thin white liquid. Once I opened it up and stirred it with a q-tip, it got a little better but still separates easily and makes me worry that the bottle will leak if I pack it for travel. But at home, works very well with mosquitos and is not unpleasant to apply, like a lot of sprays.

I had been using a standard brand insect repellent, even the top product in their lineup, and it felt like I was wearing mosquito attractant. I was getting eaten alive instead of the occasional bite I was used to. I picked up this stuff and applied it to my ankles and wrists once a day in the morning. One week later, I have not been bitten once. It worked extremely well for me. I am officially a believer in Sawyer Products 20 percent DEET Premium Family Insect Repellent Controlled Release.

As the state bird for my beautiful state is the mosquito, I'm all in when it comes to a decent mosquito repellent - and this one doesn't disappoint. I've also used the Off brand lotion, it's also good. But I lucked out being able to get this brand at a much reduced price. It's very effective, and I much prefer lotions to sprays. Why on earth don't more companies make mosquito/insect repellent lotion? I can't even find any in the stores, and trust me, I've looked. There is also little to no scent to this, no sticky residue - an added bonus. I'd also like to give yet another shout-out to the mosquito repellent wristbands by Cliganic, they're an excellent product. Often I just wear one of these, unless it's dusk when the mosquitoes are having a warplane swarming contest. Anyway, this lotion is a good product and I will definitely purchase more.

I'm a mosquito magnet! This lotion has made my life bearable during mosquito season, which has become longer due to climate change. I was getting bitten indoors (as well as outdoors) because a few mosquitos manage to get in the house and they always find me! I put this on all exposed skin (except my face) every morning, and it keeps me from getting bitten all day. It may not last quite as long as promised (11 hours), but lasts almost all day. It is unscented, but has a faint odor of deet, which isn't too bad.

Tested this out tonight when sitting outside and I will say it does work well, but it is certainly not odorless like the description says, this definitely has that classic bug repellent stink. Also, make sure you shake the bottle well before applying or it comes out lumpy. It does work well in keeping the bugs away, but wasn't odorless like I was hoping so I could only give it 3 stars.

This product really worked to prevent mosquito! One of the most effective product we’ve used.

Excellent. No smell from this product. Applied under sun cream and had no bites at all.
