Great Product
Decided to take the plunge and spend the $286 on Apple's new iPod 5th generation, and after two weeks with it...I have no regrets. I really am amazed at what this little iPod can do. I moved up from the shuffle and the old original iPod video (w/ the click wheel) from years ago...and I realize I've been missing out on a lot.I mainly use it for music, a couple news & sports apps, different photography apps and my favorite feature...their list of different podcasts. I love that I'm able to get home after work, download the latest 'PTI' or 'Around the Horn' podcasts and walk my dog for an hour while I listen to both of them. Another gem is 'Democracy Now'. It really is a portable mini computer within your hand or pocket.I'm on a talk and text phone plan, but nearly everywhere I go (within Chicago) I'm able to pick up a wifi signal with the iPod...especially at Starbucks. A great app I recommend is Pocket (formerly Read it Later)...in the morning I'll quickly go through my news apps and download the articles to Pocket. Even while offline, the Pocket app pulls and stores the articles for offline reading and I'm able to read the articles on the train ride in to work. And it's free!Photos are and video on the iPod are great. Really can't think of any other positive that haven't been rehashed by other reviewers. Although I will say I'm disappointed, actually ANNOYED that the headphones did not come with a line-in mic or volume rocker on the headphones. What gives Apple?! While walking the dog I'll have the iPod in my jean pocket...but it's been rather cold out, so I'm wearing gloves and when a song comes on during shuffle mode that I'm not too interested in, I have to take my gloves off and reach into my pocket and fwd to the next song. Mildly inconvenient to say the least. So if you're a dog walker, be aware that there is NO volume rocker attached to the headphones. I'll admit the new headphones are huge step up from their previous line...bass is nice, def clearer with a much nicer fit within the ear. And I wouldn't be as annoyed if the line-in mic/volume rocker headphones didn't cost another $30.I'd recommend this product for anyone...more specifically if you're on a talk and text phone plan.

Best iPod Touch Ever
I was first the owner of a 3rd generation ipod touch and waited until this generation to upgrade it.It was a real good change because now I have multitasking apps, frontal and rear camera, A5 proccessor and a shiny 4" retina screen that looks amazing. All that in a thicker and taller iPod touch that only added $100 for the price of my last ipod touch.I have been able to play graphic-demanding games like Need for Speed Most Wanted with almost no time to load and with very good graphics and performance.I have tried both cameras and they fit my expectations. The frontal camera is more than enough to make facetime or skype video calls and the rear camera can take very well photos, even at night. I also appreciate the new home screen shortcut to open immediatly the camera when I just get the iPod out of my pocket and press the home button.I would definitely recommend this product to everyone.

Another great product
Cool device. Feels nice and looks good. I'll shorten a lengthy review to a shorter pros and cons list.PROS:Nice design and feelButtons have a nice click to themSiri is awesome, spent a while just asking random questionsSpeakers are better(Making fun of apple by saying this, and quoting a commercial) And the headphone jack is on the left!Cons:No automatic brightness adjustmentThe lighting connector, advertised as being able to charge your device faster, ironically seems to be much slower than the 30 pin design. It seems to be taking 5x as longer to charge than my 4th gen iTouch, for example, it was at about 80% charge. Plugged it in maybe... 35 minutes ago. It's at around 87% now... While my 4th gen was at 72% charge, I had it plugged in for about 20 minutes, and it's fully charged.

Advertised as new, but sold as used.
My review is about my purchasing experience. Since this is the third time this has happened to me, I want others to be aware of some seller practices. I purchased this item at the new item price. However, when setting up my Touch I noticed pictures on the device that were not stock photos from Apple. I took the device to my local Apple Store and they confirmed they were not photos that came with the device (should there be any?) Although the two pictures were innocent enough, the Apple Store employee's reaction to this revelation only confirmed my suspicions that the item had been returned to Apple, repackaged, and advertised on Amazon as new. In all instances Amazon has been wonderful confirming they are a certified Apple reseller and have resolved my issues to my satisfaction - thank you very much Amazon. However, what I would like to ask of Amazon is to hold sellers accountable. The threat to a seller not selling their mdse on Amazon should suffice. I have a healthy purchase history with Amazon. How many other purchases were sold to me used, but I could not confirm? Since this is the third time this has happened to me that I could confirm, I want others to be aware of some seller practices.
