Most Diverse Multi-Function Card Reader Available
I have bought this style of card reader a few times since 2009 (sold by J-Power and now Stanley Global) and no other card reader style can compete with the number of readable card formats. What sets this card reader style apart is, in addition to flash memory cards, it can read integrated circuit cards (ICC), specifically SIM cards and Smart Cards. This is great if you are in the military and want to use it as a CAC reader, or if you want to read the phone numbers off an old SIM card. The bundled SIM card software is not bad. At first blush, the major revisions that I can tell with this newer Stanley Global model is the SIM card and Smart Card slots are more snug, and there is added support for the SDXC format. These are the formats I know it can read: - Reads Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards - Reads Smart Cards (CAC cards) - Reads CompactFlash (CF) Type I cards - Reads CompactFlash (CF) Type II cards - Reads xD-Picture Cards (obsolete) - Reads MultiMediaCard (MMC) cards - Reads Reduced-Size MultiMediaCard (RS-MMC) cards - Reads Secure Digital (SD) cards (Secure Digital Standard Capacity (SDSC) Cards) - Reads Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) cards - Reads Secure Digital eXtended Capacity (SDXC) cards - Reads mini Secure Digital (miniSD) cards - Reads micro Secure Digital (microSD) cards (T-Flash cards) - Reads Memory Stick (MS) cards - Reads Memory Stick PRO cards - Reads Memory Stick Duo cards - Reads Memory Stick PRO Duo (MSPD) cards - Reads Memory Stick Micro (M2) cards I very strongly recommend if you regularly use many different types of ICC and flash memory cards!

Does it all...once you fix it!
This all-in-one memory/CAC reader will save a lot of space in your briefcase, once you get it working. If you're using it on a Windows 7 machine, it will NOT work immediately. Do NOT return it, the fix takes about 45 seconds. 1. Start Device Manager 2. Right-click the "eHome Infrared Receiver (USBCIR" entry (this is what Windows 7 erroneously installs this as) 3. Select "Update Driver Software" 4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software" 5. Choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" 6. Make sure "Show compatible hardware" box is checked 7. Select "USB Composite Device" 8. Select "Next" and you're done Now it will work.

Bought this back in 2015 and it worked great until I upgraded to Windows 10
Bought this back in 2015 and it worked great until I upgraded to Windows 10. Although the Stanley Global Technologies website says this one is compatible with Windows 10 it is not. After upgrading to Windows 10 I had connection issues, where I had to uninstall then reinstall the drivers jsu to get it to work. Not it will not even connect now.

Piece of Junk
Chincy piece of junk. I bought several of these and handed them out. The three I kept for myself were all useless within a month. One of them was dead on arrival

Additional software needed to view or retrieve sim card data.
It worked great for reading all the other cards I had, but I bought it to pull data/and recover info from my old sim card. Nowhere that I seen, does it tell you that to view or retrieve sim card data you'd need to purchase or download from somewhere additional software that is compatible with the device.

USB multi reader
WOW and WOW again. this is the best most universal reader i have ever tried. i mean you don't even need to install the software to use it. it works with everything i have from a simm card from my phone to a memory card for my HD video camera to the micro sd card in my phone for extra memory it reads them all flawlessly and you can take from one and put it on another by using a new folder on the desktop. try one if you are tired of changing phones and then swapping your phone numbers and having double entries. no more of that you have to try this product. i will be getting another one for my wife also.

I seem to recall that the smart card reader did not find a driver
Bought this to read the Portuguese citizenship card and it works perfectly. The card types that I have tested so far gave no problems either. When first connected it to my laptop (Windows 7), I seem to recall that the smart card reader did not find a driver. I didn't have a chance to try out the CD that came with this as I was already installing the citizenship card software and that installed all that was needed - my card was read almost immediately as the software finished installing. The connector seems a bit fragile, but it does make up for a nicely package device because of it being embeded. If your USB port is not at a table level, then the reader will have to be "floating" in the air - nothing that a USB extension won't help with.

Great for card reader, I use it for logging on to my military email primarily
Great card reader, and it just plugs and plays, works great with my military ID. Just wish it didn't stick out so far I wish it had a cable instead, I always fear i will break it.
