Icy Hot SmartRelief TENS Therapy SmartRelief Control Unit for Wireless Back & Hip Pain Therapy

Good have another one. Both quite effectively.

An athlete my entire life, and a USN Vet, I’ve had the “ pleasure” of testing many products to calm chronic pain. Whether you’re on the go or grabbing for it at home, This really works to take on many levels of acute pain.With only 3 buttons (a raised plus to increase intensity, a minus to subtract it, and the power button between) the unit is very easy to operate. Virtually a seamless look underneath clothes-in most areas of the body; depending on the outfit of course. Depending on the position of your tens unit (you don’t have to simply use the smart relief specific to the box) you can move freely while it’s shocking your muscles into submission.Once the cycle has completed the unit will shut off automatically, and you’re able to get multiple uses of the pad (depending on Care), which are easy to swap out when you require a fresh one. I would suggest keeping the battery tag, or simply taking the battery out between uses; the unit will remain in a standby mode if you’re not careful. You can easily toss a package into any bag. highly recommended!

I don’t know where exactly it’s coming from, but I’m a fairly fit woman in her thirties, and in the past six months, I’ve started having terrible back pain. I got a different chair at work; no result, I started going to pilates; feeling good, but still have the back pain, it seemed like nothing was going to work until I went to a physical therapy session at the suggestion of my trainer/friend. The PT of course did some therapeutic exercises with me to try to determine what was causing my pain, but after a couple of sessions she used a  Icy Hot Smart Relief Back and Hip Starter Kit  machine on my back at the end of our session and I hate typing it but: OMG. It was the most relief I had gotten since the pain had started. Now, don’t get me wrong, I completely understand that it was probably a combination of the PT sessions that helped, but it felt so wonderful that I immediately began researching and asking about using one of these machines at home. When Cheryl (my PT, angel, saviour) gave me the go ahead, I started looking for a machine to use while I was at home, or in my office, or maybe a quick session in my car between meetings. I found the icy hot version, and while it wasn’t the most impressive, it was inexpensive, well recommended, and importantly, the most mobile TENS machine I could find. I gave it a try and it was wonderful. Obviously not as good as the one in my PT’s office, but still pretty fantastic. She also recommended that I use this topical cream,  ThermaChill Pain Relief Roll On Cold Therapy, 3 fl oz. - Top Choice for Arthritis, Migraine Relief, Joint & Muscle Pain - Limited Time Offer: Buy 1 Get 1 Free! , that I throw on after using the tens, and it’s like icy hot in the way that it has a cooling and warming sensation, but it’s different in that it works far longer and smells way less potent. I recommend that if you’re looking for multiple ways to alleviate your pain. At any rate, I definitely recommend using this TENS system, it works very very well for an at home device.Oh, only downside is that those batteries do not last very long at all. That’s all though.

Wonderful product even if the pads are outrageously high. I don't even use my traditional corded TENS units anymore. The intensity is adjustable and powerful enough to be effective. The on/off button is kinda small for those of us with fat, Cro-Magnon like fingers so I use the eraser end of a pencil. Buy some extra batteries (buy name brands) as the batteries supplied with the unit last about a dozen 30 minute uses (I have 4 of the these and got the same amount of use from all 4). Pads will last longer if you clean the skin well with some alcohol prior to application. Put the pads back in the zip lock bag they came in and keep them in the fridge when not in use. Don't put the control unit in the fridge! Just the pad. Moisten the surface of the stickum with a drop of water if adhesion lessens...I'm hairy as a gorilla with oily skin and I get about a dozen uses from one pad.n

This is one of those rare products that really works. It is very costly, but really, it can be worth it. Sometime you can catch them on sale; them, get a couple of them. The concern it that the batteries don't last long. If you use this product to much, you could spend some in replacement batteries. They do come with one in them initially though--to get you hooked on them; then you feel you just have to replace the battery!(smile). The product doesn't stand up to long use though. I've had to replace several time the whole thing. But, that said, it does help a lot because you can control your own level of pulsation. It can also be worn under your clothes, so that allows you to wear it any place. I sure have. Sometimes I couldn't stay as long as I did at a location without it. I don't know it it could be used say with a pacemaker. It doesn't seem as if that's possible.
