Review: Perfect water!! - Definitely a keeper it did great with the algae removal problem that I was having and the chlorine problem I was having my water is perfect now in the pool and I ordered all of my products first and then the strips to see what it needs and definitely was great. I ordered the large one so I don’t have to keep getting it. The lid was a little confusing at first for me, but it was easily fixed and actually I’m glad that it’s like that because it shows that a lot of care went into it and is very high in my state. I wouldn’t want it to be subjected to the weather here so I keep it in my garage awesome and easy to use great deal as well.

**Q: how many tablets in a 50 lb pail?**
A: This product is not a tablet... it is a powder. It is 100% sodium bicarbonate (same thing as baking soda).  If you want to raise the alkalinity in your pool you can do it by using baking soda which is much cheaper.  A 4 lb. box at Walmart costs about $2.25.

**Q: What is the chemical difference between "in the swim" alkalinity up and "in the swim" pH increaser?  Big price difference.**
A: alkalinity up is sodium bicarbonate, mainly increases alkalinity and some pH.  Important for concrete pools.  pH increases is sodium carbonate, a stronger base.  Raises pH with little increase in alkalinityy.

**Q: How much soda ash should I use**
A: This product is not soda ash.  It is sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda.  To increase alkalinity 10 ppm in a 20,000 gallon pool, you would add approximately 3 lbs. of alkalinity increaser or baking soda. (Adjust according to your pool size).  Simple baking soda is the same product as alkalinity increaser and can actually be purchased much cheaper (about $2.25 for a 4 lb. box at Walmart).  Soda ash will increase both alkalinity and pH.

**Q: Can in the pool alkalinity increaser replace spaguard?**
A: Alkalinity increaser is the same product no matter what brand you buy.  For an even cheaper solution, just buy regular baking soda (large boxes) at Walmart or Amazon.  Compare the labels on alkalinity increaser from the pool store and on regular baking soda..... they are the same..... sodium bicarbonate.  I have owned a pool for years and I only use baking soda to increase alkalinity in my pool water when needed.

I ordered the large one so I don’t have to keep getting it.
