Great book!
This is a really cool book! I am a big fan of Rem Koolhaas and this was a great book that covered a lot of information that I never new about him and it really changed my perceptive of his work and even my own approach to my work.

Highly recommended
This book is a masterpiece of scholarship. The best critical and biographical expose of Rem Koolhaas, from his very beginnings as a member of a team, to his later surge as an individual soprano, Roberto Gargiani unravels the multiple layers of meanings and theoretical constructs at the root of Koolhaas's multiple and varied works. The architectural projects emerge as part of a persistent search for an 'alternative post-modernity', one that builds upon the utopian visions of the 1920's, but also transcends them to propose an architecture of its time. Gargiani displays an intimate knowledge of each and every one of the works examined, from their schematic origins to their structural systems, while examining their role within the persistent theoretical adventure of the architect. This book is a refreshing account on the importance of 'ideas' and critical thinking, at a time when architecture seems to have surrendered to the amateurish, superficial 'play of curves' brought together under light...
