Just making an educated guess here from looking at the finger hole placement and number of them, that this instrument is key of C. Can’t be sure without seeing the fingering chart. However, it does appear to be a copy of the ABS Xaphoon, and that instrument is made key of C. That said, the range is likely to be from middle C to C, two full octaves above. Getting the upper register on these instruments (any maker) takes some amount of practice. If you need the upper register, there’s a good Xaphoon video on this and the technique applies to all these Mini Sax instruments.

Does it use the same fingerings as saxophone?

Similar but not exactly. After a month of use here are concert pentatonic scales I use: BbM, Bbm, CM, Cm, Dm, EM, Em, FM, Fm, Gm.

what is the technique to get a sound out of my mini sax

Soak the reed for about 15 minutes. Then adjust it so you can make sound from it. I put my reed at the top of the mouthpiece. Then adjust it down as necessary. The only problem I am having is the beginning newbie again. It also, has been more than a few years for me. It is fun to try to get a good sound. Takes practice.
