Mixed review here. The coat rack is made out of a thick, sturdy, beautiful piece of acacia wood. I love the look of the wood! I was actually planning on ordering another for our mudroom...until I actually received it! Everything about this rack other than the slab of wood is horrible. First, the hangers on the back are over 33" apart. WHY, WHY, WHY would they not put these at 32"? Most studs are 16" on center, so this is a real head-scratcher! I would not hang a coat rack that will support winter coats and bags without going into studs, so I ended up having to drill through the front of the wood in a couple of spots to secure to studs. That really sucked because who wants extra screws on the front of a beautiful piece of wood? Then, the hooks that come on the rack are USELESS! They are so small! Forget about hanging a bag or a bigger coat on them; they just come right off! So, I replaced all of the hooks with nice, sturdy, large hooks. The original hooks were also on crooked. I managed to put my new ones on straight and cover up all but one of the holes from the original tiny hooks. I would have been able to cover them all, but they weren't in a straight line to begin with! So, it's really a shame that what could be a fantastic coat rack had some really stupid decisions go into the manufacture. If the seller wants to make this a 5-star piece, put the hangers at 32" on center, use more substantial hooks that are actually functional and make sure the hooks are mounted level with each other. I have well over 100 in the rack now that I had to switch out the hooks (and put a couple of hours into fixing all the problems), so this was not a good value at all for me. Unless you see changes to the product for the shortcomings I've mentioned, or uniess you see it on a drastic price reduction, pass on this.

We ordered two. The wood and workmanship was very nice, but the hanging brackets on the back didn’t line up with standard spacing of wall studs. These are way too heavy to be held up by the included wall anchors - especially with items hanging on them. We ended up getting our own hardware and drilling right through the shelves, to make sure they were secure to the wall. Kind of a pain, and not as pretty!

Works and looks great! Just wish the hooks were a little bigger, but then I'd junk up the coatrack beyond recognition:-)
