Sizing Issues Explored
This review is for Wells Lamont deerskin drivers gloves 962 L, size Large. Amazon mixes together reviews on similar products, so note the product number. I just got the gloves today to replace a pair that I've had for many years.Wells Lamont has priced these glove high enough to make a very good return but the product is exceptionally good. The leather is very clean; free of defects. The stitching and workmanship are very good. (Yes, they are made in China just like my old ones. Quality management can produce quality products anywhere.) The inset thumb cost more but provides more comfort. There is a narrow strip of leather sewn just where the fingers meet the palm. This little extra cost more but gives added wear. All of that plus the deer skin make for a very comfortable work glove that should wear well for weekend workers. (If you are handling roofing shingles all day, you need another glove.)Now for the sizing. I like a loose fitting glove that I can get rid of quickly if necessary. My hand is a size 9 which is not big for a man, so wanting a loose fit I ordered a size Large. When the new gloves arrived I tried them on and found a snug fit. When compared to my old gloves (also Large and the same product from Wells) the old ones were much more roomy. So I measured the old and new and found them BOTH to be size 9! The old ones seem to have stretched in the fingers some but I think the big difference is that the old elastic strip sewn inside the cuff has lost its stretch and no longer closes the wrist opening. Now the only complaint I had was the size 9 marked as Large. When I worked in the glove business some years ago, we labeled a size 9 as Medium and a 10 as Large. So I checked the internet and found that the sizing is all over the map. 9-10 is generally accepted as Large. Wells Lamont's own website states that their 9 is Large. So, OK then.Sorry for being so long winded. I want to state that I have no relationship with Wells Lamont. They competed with the company I worked for, so I would like to say nasty things about them. But they have had a very good reputation for quality products for a long time. Also, I paid full price for my gloves.

So glad to find these offered at Amazon. Been using deerskin gloves for years and years.. for work, warmth and protection with dexterity and feel.

Great customer service
Ordered these gloves and got an incorrect pair. Contacted the vender (Rainbow Products) and they could not have been better in fixing the order. Will not hesitate to order through them again. And the gloves are great. I use them for work and when riding my Harley.

Not what they used to be but still probably the best for the price
I have used Wells Lamont Deerskin gloves for light yard/household work for many years. My current ones have developed some holes in the fingerpads so got these as replacement.Things I have noticed compared to earlier models.1. Deerskin is thinner. I would be surprised if these hold up a well as my previous WL gloves2. Sizing is somewhat smaller. I have always used a medium with hand measurement 8.25 inch. This is at the lower end of the WL medium size chart and they are actually quite tight. The deerskin is supple enough that it shouldn't matter but if was at store where I could try the fit I would be interested in how a large would fit. I would suggest customers consider a size up if they are in the middle of the sizing chart.Maybe these are now just supposed to be "driving" gloves but they seem pretty heavy for that.

Neon Yellow color.
Great gloves. Horrible color. These gloves make me look like I am a mime performing on the city square. Neon yellow, not what I was expecting. On the photo, the top gloves are the yellow ones with the bottom being a normal deerskin glove color. Not sure why this color was chosen, it is bad.

I wear these EVERY DAY driving
Bought a pair years ago and finally wore them out. Just bought another pair and “Not Sorry”. I wear them every day while driving and I can’t describe how luxurious and comfortable they are. I have a fused wrist and these gloves give me a grip and comfort that regular cow hide gloves don’t have while driving or doing other demanding work.

Is it Cowhide or deerskin?
Right glove says deerskin and left glove tag says cowhide? They appear to both be the same type of leather, which kind who knows. Ironically the right "deerskin" glove is noticeably thicker leather and thus fits tighter than the left glove. The leather seems to be of good quality but quality control is suspect.

Gloves were exactly what I was looking for and a fraction of the price in the Box stores

One good glove, one bad.
One of the gloves was completely misformed. Almost like I got a different left and right glove. Wells Lamont didn't want to resolve the issue.
