I bought several of these for some stunt filming, very happy with them.
I gave the thickness rating a 3/5, but to me that's great for protective pads for what I need them for, we don't want them to show up on film. The material is amazing, they are very soft, but when struck with blunt trauma they harden significantly. Slim enough to fit in jeans around the hips for protection there, they're good in a pinch to gaff tape to the chest to take a hit there. All in all, very useful pads.

Nice!
Unlike other back protectors this one is slightly different shaped. More like a barrel instead of a torso... Still fits the same in a jacket just slightly longer. It's heavy... But it's also made of Newtonian material. It's pretty good if you're going for low profile flexible soft armor.

Check your jacket's insert dimensions first!
My jacket is a River Road - Terminator leather jacket. Had to cut off about 1 1/2" from the length to get it to barely fit. Since my jacket came with crap for inserts (might as well have been cardboard) I wanted to put something a bit more sturdy in. Amazon doesn't seem to sell decent bike armor, as this seemed to be the best I could find. I expect the rubber like material will absorb a decent bit of g force to the spine, but I'll likely be replacing it by this time next year with something better. I'm afraid of what I'll have to do to the elbow versions whenever they'll arrive.

Stopped 3 hits from a 2 hand axe
I used this under my steel armor in Buhurt. It’s taken 3 full swings from a 2 handed axe by a man who knows how to swing an axe and I stayed standing. Should handle you falling of your bike

I don't want to test it.
It fits well in the jacket and seems well made. I prefer to have it, wear it and never have to test it.
