Awesome replacement batteries for my UPS
Great batteries for a fraction of the cost for what costs to go out and buying a new UPS. Had to get 2 for a 1285 geeksquad UPS. Was Quick and easy to swap out the old ones and pop these in. Recommend taking pics and writing in permanent marker on the contacts of the wires when working on the UPS when changing out to eliminate confusion, when putting them back together. Update---- 8/11/2014 Just had My OTHER 1295 geeksquad UPS die in the house. I used this one on my entertainment center. Had the previous one on my computers and is still chugging along normally with these batteries in there. Bought 2 more to replace the batteries in the one that just recently bit the dust. They seem to be working well and the monitor on the program is liking them as well. Had 2 brownouts and a blackout in the time had them and was still working. Update------2/11/2015 Batteries are still going strong and had 2 blackouts and a couple brownouts in the time frame of owning them. Have witnessed multiple power issues in my apartment when these were in the UPS, and they are still coming back and testing ok in the software and the hardware tests. Great batteries, and have no doubts about getting more. Update------3/5/2016 Both UPS are still working without any issues and still maintaining charges. Even through multiple brown/blackouts and lighting storms. Love these batteries and will be buying and recommending these batteries to anyone who needs replacements to anyone. Update--------4/25/2017 Both UPS backups are still going strong, and have had multiple blackouts and brown outs the past couple years. And these things ran my internet and TV etc for a good 2-3 hours before giving out (2 per UPS). Was using LED TV and fire TV on one, and just modem and router on another. Update---------3/2/2018 Both sets of batteries are going strong on both UPS'es. They have been up for almost 4 years and have been through multiple brown outs, black outs, and TONS of dirty power running through this complex. They kick on from time to time from a flux of dirty power coming through the port. Update -----------6/1/2020 Sorry, bit of a delay on the update. All things considered in all of this chaos. Had two UPS battery backups go Kaput. One completely bit the big one. My complex is full of dirty power. Just glad it took out a 100 dollar UPS and batteries rather than nuking 1000's of dollars of electronics. Saved my 4k TV, 4k receiver, Multiple consoles, Blu-ray player, Media computer and various other audio devices hooked up to it. These batteries replaced the other one that simply needed new batteries. Bought another set. Voila!! up again and electronics are happy.

Beware of used cells, even ships and sold by Amazon.
I've had good luck with these, but one of them I got "ships and sold by Amazon" was used and defective. The ships and sold by Amazon units don't come with any packaging, just the bare cell, but other than the defective unit the others were fine and about 5 months old. The ones sold by "Ace Comp Solutions" and shipped by Amazon come with the cells packed in a thin box with plastic covers on the terminals and were about 7 months old and in great condition. I'll keep buying these, as they are good cells at a good price, but make sure you didn't get a used one.

Power Sonic PS-1290 for TrippLite OMNI1000LCD and G1000U
Purchased from eComElectronics. An identical battery to the one pictured for this item arrived bare in single cardboard box packed in paper without even any plastic wrap on the battery. There were plastic terminal covers which had come off and were floating around inside the box since they weren't taped on. I can't complain since there was no damage, but all in all the packaging seems a little skimpy. The battery is a direct replacement for the ones in the Tripp Lite OMNI1000LCD and G1000U units sold at Costco at various times. I have one of each. These units have identical specs and only differ in their display and the fact that the G1000U is designed for user battery replacement. Well, technically the Tripp Lite website says the G1000U has 3.5 and 14 minutes of runtime with 500W and 250W load, respectively, whereas it lists the OMNI1000LCD as having 3 and 9 minutes at the same loads. Seems more likely that they changed some parameter of the test or else got too many complaints on the G1000U not getting advertised runtime because all other specs are the same and they both have identically rated (9AH) batteries. I had a 2nd G1000U which died (display is dead and no output when plugged into the wall). I haven't experimented yet to see if it will turn on when plugged in with a new battery, but I suspect it is done for. (It is worth noting that batteries do not have linear discharge characteristics; i.e. load is not directly proportional to discharge time. This is why a UPS will only run 1/3rd as long when the load on it is doubled.) Other reviews have discussed the difficulties in replacing the OMNI1000LCD battery; not too hard but it takes a little mechanical aptitude to get it all back together after getting it apart. If you're the sort with only a kitchen drawer full of basic tools you might not have a long and skinny enough phillips head screwdriver to get it open, but any hardware store will have one. The G1000U battery access screw is easily accessible with even a stubby phillips and once the screw is removed a door slides out to get at the battery. Neither unit's "battery dead" symbol ever lit up, but the OMNI1000LCD battery was so far gone that a 15 second power outage resulted in my computer shutting down with only a couple of beeps from the unit before the battery was empty. It could have been a disaster had I been working on an important document. Once power was restored the battery shot back up to indicating fully charged in less than 5 minutes. I hooked up a desk lamp with a single 40 watt incandescent bulb to the OMNI1000 and it died in about a minute. The G1000U lasted 10 minutes with a 100 watt incandescent. Once I got the Power Sonic in it appeared to have arrived fully charged. I let it sit charging over night to top off and tried the 100W desk lamp test again. After 30 minutes the battery still showed 2 of 5 bars. Success! Now to see how it does on longevity...

Arrived dead, can't figure out how to return
Ordered two of these batteries, one arrived completely fine. The other arrived measuring 1.1 volts nd would not take a charge. Amazon's FAQ says a 12 volt battery should arrive with a voltage of 12 volts or it might be bad. When I try to return it choosing the "defective" option, the Amazon web agent puts me through an endless loop of troubleshooting FAQs that never gets me to a resolution to return the battery. I suspect this one has made the rounds with other people choosing "didn't need" or "arrived late" as the reason to return it when they ran into the same problem, sending it back into stock for some other poor sucker (like me) to get stuck with. (It had no packaging, unlike the other one I ordered, which came wrapped in bubble wrap and tagged with the typical Amazon inventory sticker.) So beware! If you take a chance buying an AGM VRLA battery on Amazon, you might get stuck with a bad one with no honest way to return it!

Great battery for alarms, UPS systems and more; keep it charged
I just purchased my 5th battery and continue to be pleased with the PowerSonic battery in particular. This brand assures a quality battery. Some batteries claim to be "equilavent" and while they may be close, for important uses, this is the one to buy. I use this battery in many devices, in my airplane running critical avionics where I need the best since my life is on the line. I use this battery to backup my home alarm system and another in my UPS power backup for my PC. It's very fortunate that the same battery fits in all devices. Over the last few years this same size and shape has evolved from 7Ah, to 8Ah, to 8.5Ah and now 9Ah. Some of the copy brands are behind in their technology and can only get 8Ah in the same size package. That's a clear sign that their batteries are not up to par. Also, notice the weight, you can't get more power in the same package without increasing the weight using current technology. If you don't need the full 9Ah capacity and life, then perhaps the lower priced generic brands will work for you? I am able to get 3-4 years out of a battery. These batteries like to be kept charged; if you allow yours to drain it'll hurt the life. If you drain and cycle them expect 300-500 cycles. Also, there are special Gel battery chargers, such as the Battery Tender Junior. Battery Tender 021-0123 Battery Tender Junior 12V Battery Charger This charger is designed specifically for these batteries and will keep them working properly. 5 stars for a solid well working battery that performs as needed.
