Great for young lovers of spiders
This stuffed animal is great. For some unknown reason, my two-year old girl LOVES spiders. I searched high and low to find an affordable stuffed spider that she could carry around and sleep with, but that wasn't too scary looking. This one fit the bill. It's soft, has cute, large eyes (we call them "googley eyes), and correctly depicts an animal with eight legs (it's unbelievable how many toy spiders don't have eight legs that look like eight actual legs). I also like the color. Although my girl isn't obsessed with any one color, many of the stuffed spiders looked too creepy in colors of black, orange or brown: too "realistic" to snuggle up with for sleep. Plus, such colors didn't match any aspect of the decor in my girl's room (although this wasn't a major factor; the fear factor was greater). Although it turns out my daughter loves realistic looking spiders just as much as this one, she doesn't seek to sleep with her more realistic spiders. She loves THIS one. If it's not in her bed when it's time to go to sleep, she asks for it. I'll search high and low in the house to see to where she's carried it so she can have it to sleep with (maybe I should get another one). Plus, it's a good buy. It was far less than the only other "cute" spider I could find, which, because it was made with reclaimed wool and was organic, cost a whopping $60.00 (although it was twice the size). Because children's fancies change so rapidly, I prefer the price tag on this item.
