EASY TO APPLY - Black ColorShot Instant Fabric Spray
I recently used the Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Spray in Black, and overall, I found it to be a great option for quick and vibrant fabric coloring. Here’s my take on its performance: Ease of Use — This fabric spray is very easy to use—just shake, spray, and let it dry. The spray nozzle provides even coverage, reducing the chances of streaks or blotchy areas. Unlike traditional fabric dyes, there’s no need for mixing, soaking, or rinsing, which makes it a convenient choice for DIY projects. Color & Coverage — The black color is rich and bold, giving a deep, even coat on lighter fabrics. It works best on white or light-colored materials; however, on darker fabrics, the effect can be more subtle. For full opacity, multiple coats may be necessary. The paint dries quickly (within minutes), but it’s best to let it cure for a full 24 hours before washing. Fabric Feel & Durability — One of the standout features is that it doesn’t make the fabric stiff—a common issue with many fabric paints. Once dry, the material remains soft and flexible. After washing, the color holds up well, though it’s best to follow gentle washing instructions to prolong its vibrancy. Pros & Cons ✅ Pros: • Easy to apply with an even spray • Dries quickly and keeps fabric soft • Vibrant black color on light fabrics • No mess or rinsing required ❌ Cons: • Less effective on dark fabrics • May require multiple coats for full coverage • Small 3oz bottle runs out quickly for larger projects Final Verdict — The Tulip ColorShot Instant Fabric Spray in Black is a great choice for quick fabric makeovers. It’s perfect for customizing t-shirts, shoes, or other fabric crafts without the hassle of traditional dyeing. Just keep in mind that it works best on lighter fabrics and may need extra coats for deeper saturation.

FANTASTIC PRODUCT!
While living and working in Colorado, I was given this hat by a Colorado Department of Transportation worker in 2008. I was a contractor- their primary driver safety training instructor for 11 years, and made a lot of friends. The employees got hats every year at mandatory safety training gatherings in Denver. This hat was the best one they ever made, and I actually traded one on my company's hats for it, but I digress. It was a prized possession for me. I traveled all over the country doing safety training and I collected hats from travels even to Alaska. But this home grown Colorado hat was my favorite! I wore it extensively living and working in a higher altitude state and it got pretty faded over these 11 years. It was still black, but very faded and in spots almost more brown that black. Moved from Colorado to Massachusetts 3 years ago, so trading for another hat from a CDOT employee became impossible. I was actually bummed out about it as the hat and where it represented (Colorado) had great sentimental value for me as well. I saw a review and instructional video on the internet about this product, and all I can say is- that review and the actual visible outcome of the product was amazing! So, I used it for my extremely faded and deeply coveted CDOT hat. It looks brand new! Apart from painstakingly masking the entire hat logos, the process was very easy and smooth and the results are incredible! I highly recommend this product- well, at least in making old hats look brand new again.

Easy to use and I had great results.
The Tulip fabric paint works better than I expected. I had to color a pair of my wife’s shoes for our Granddaughters wedding, she just couldn’t find a pair she liked. The fabric paint comes out of the can very forceful. It has a very fine mist spray quality. I had a couple of runs but that was part of my learning curve. It has very good coverage and is very durable. It is really a good value for the money, a lot cheaper than another pair of shoes. The product has a large variety of colors so I may be redoing more in the future. It is easy to use and produces great results.

Worked perfectly on suede booties. Highly recommend.
I used this spray paint to color beige suede booties. It worked perfectly. I applied 3 layers, drying ~30 minutes in between. One can was enough for both booties. It dried fast without leaving an odor. Definitely need to work with it outside or in a very well-ventilated area.

Solid color not a glitter
I was hoping for a glitter spray. I didnt realize this would be a very very solid silver spray.

Do not buy unless you are a fan of poor decisions and regret.
I almost never write reviews, but I felt like I needed to warn people about this product. I purchased a can of Tulip matte white ColorShotspray and it was a disaster. The spray tip would clog after 2-4 seconds of spraying. I had to pull the nozzle off the can and clean it with paint thinner and a toothbrush to clear it. Once back on, I would get another 2-4 seconds of use before needing to clean it again. After cleaning if for at least the 10th time, I jammed a pin into the spray tip to enlarge it, hoping it would clog less. Enlarging the nozzle opening did help the clogging issue. Once the can got to about 25% full, it began to sputter, causing uneven spray, then seemingly ran out of propellant. I basically had to fight to get the usable 75% of the can out and had to trash the last 25%. The paint that did come out was OK, I guess. I sprayed it on a dark green cotton tshirt. It took a ton of light coats to get a fair coverage and it is definately not soft. I get that putting light paint on dark cloth isn’t the best idea, but this paint didn't do me any favors. The paint was underwhelming, the application process was a nightmare. I will never buy this product again.

Buy it!
The quality is perfect and easy to use, I was using a lace/mesh type of fabric so i was worried it wouldn’t stick but it came out amazing and dries within seconds.

Worked to re-dye a new era black on black hat.
I used this black matte on a fading New Era black hat with a black logo. Covered the brim and strap with tape. I did passing sprays about 8” away. 2 passes 5 minutes apart and then let dry overnight. Worked great and the hat looks fresh again! The hat fabric was a little stiffer after drying but wasnt bad and it losens. The logo lost some of its shine but overall the hat looks better. This small can was plenty and I think it has enough to do the same thing a few more times.
