Milwaukee 2980-20 M18 FUEL 4-1/2 in. - 6 in. Braking Grinder w/No-Lock Paddle Switch (Tool Only)

I use this with a cutting wheel and grinding wheel. Does great in both applications. Battery life is better than expected while using the 9.0ah batteries with the grinder. It does have some weight to it but is powerful to back it up so if you have to use it all day every day might want to look into some of milwaukees lighter options.

I rarely buy cheap tools, but for some reason I bought a cheesy bargain bin grinder that I was using to strip the inside of my kitchen cabinets. I had it locked on when it grabbed the inside corner and got ripped out of my hand. Nine stitches later with a gnarly gouge to the bone between my fingers I decided to find the safest angle grinder available. Lesson learned! The Milwaukee has a paddle switch with a safety button to prevent the switch from being accidentally turned on. It has a brake that stops the tool within a second after the switch is released. There is no mechanism to lock it in the on position. Once your hand releases the switch, intentionally or otherwise, it shuts down. It is extremely well balanced and heavy-ish which is telling of a quality tool. I bought third party batteries, so I can’t say how the Milwaukee batteries are. The one I bought only comes with a six inch guard. Was it worth the money?? For all of the safety features built into it, the answer is yes! It’s a powerful tool with considerably high speed. I have other Milwaukee tools that I’ve had for years and they’re bulletproof. I would buy this again if I needed another one.

Grinders arrived promptly and were packaged very well. Very nice construction and easy to change-out grinding disc's or wheels. I really like the versatility of the grinder to switch from 4-1/2" to 6" on the fly! Very Powerful and Rugged Grinders! Braking system is excellent. I enjoy using this grinder without having to change batteries every 5 minutes. Top of the line grinder! I can use 1 tool for the job instead of having to get a bigger/smaller grinder while working. 5 star product and seller!

This grinder is the best grinder I've ever purchased and I own around 15 of them. I have a different model of Milwaukee fuel 18v grinder that I love but this one has twice the power. It cuts through metal without bogging down at all. I'm going to buy another when I can.

This is my third M18 grinder. No cords to deal with and with an 8.0 amp hour battery I can do a significant amount of work. I absolutely love it. As my other grinders wear out I'll be replacing them with another M18 grinder.
