On The Edge: A Novel of Spiritual Warfare

Captivating, entertaining and enlightening to Satan and his attacks.
Easy to read and follow the characters. I really liked it as a beware of Satan and his workers, especially in the times we live in.A helpful reminder of what really matters in life.

Very eye opening
I know the power of prayer. This book has made me realize that the absence of prayer is powerful in a bad way. It's like removing all the safety nets. We need to pray, not only for our own selves but for everyone around us.

Inspiring
Story was engaging, characters were easy to love. Summary compared it to Frank Peretti but I did not find it equal. I also believe that some of the theology was right on but some was not. For instance, the story repeatedly talks about man's immortal soul but 1 Timothy 6:16 states that only God is immortal. The issue regarding hell was focused on the parable of Lazarus and the rich man that Jesus told, based on Greek myths that His hearers were familiar with and with a lesson that had nothing to do with hell, and ignored the many Bible references that actually speak of God's fire. HellTruth.com is a good source for a comprehensive study of this subject both in the Bible and in the history of its fabrication and adoption by the Catholic church. And there are several other doctrinal errors. Just like the Left Behind series, this story can touch your heart as long as you study your own Bible and understand where fact and fiction part ways. All in all its a good story. Just remember, God is all powerful. But even more so, He is complete love. Happy reading!

Heart warming truth about how God works when you take Him to heart
I would recommend this book to all I know believers an unbelievers. A honest way Satan and demon to pray on people to keep them from the truth of God's word and promises for a more comfortable life. 2 separate stories, same family 1w/o God and 1w/God first and foremost in your life. A much needed read.

this book saved my life
I was fortunate enough to meet the author, F.Parker Hudson while at the Atlanta Airport. We ended up giving him a ride home from airport. He gave me a copy of this book. After reading this book, I was on my hands and knees, asking Jesus into my heart. This book was well-written, page turner book that gave a realistic approach to show how and why God is so important.like I said, this book is what brought me to my hands and knees, alone in my living room, crying and begging Jesus to enter my heart and in my life. I did the sinner's prayer without even knowing how. This was back in 1995. I was living in sin with an abusive boyfriend in Georgia at the time. Within the next couple of weeks I had my car packed, in August, without a/c and with my cat and litter box, where I drove home to San Diego, CA (my parents home). I had to drive over 2000 miles. With all the areas I could have broken down, I ended up breaking down near San Antonio, TX, where my recent x's aunt and uncle lived. I knew no one else in Texas so I called them for help. Not only did they get my car fixed, but they took me on the best camping trip I ever had.Think about it; God has His protecting hand on me. Out of all those miles, He made sure there was a safe place for me to break-down. God used this book to save me. Thank you, F. Parker Hudson! I pray the Lord keeps using your books to help bring other lost souls to Our most loving Lord.

Good points: -Hudson takes the concept of spiritual warfare ...
The plot in the first half was very engaging, but then the second half came. I'm a big fan of Peretti's work, but this is not in the same league.Good points:-Hudson takes the concept of spiritual warfare presented in "This Present Darkness" and makes it very relatable. It's easy to understand how small steps and small decisions make all the difference in ones spiritual life and real life.- The majority of the book keeps a steady pace and the plot is very believable and engaging.Downsides:- Every character from teen or frat boy to business man to snazzy female realtor to youth pastor speaks with EXACTLY the same voice, and it is generally a very "written" type of language, not the way people speak.- The middle/second half of the book becomes a bit of a testimony parade. It's slow, and it's the least authentic part of the book. Nobody knows that many people who just want to have a proselytizing dinner party.I wanted to love this book because I love the message it holds, the theme, the potential for spreading truth. It could have been so much more, but the writing is just ok, not excellent.

A book that will cause you to self evaluate and minister to you as well.
It was a real interesting book that I found was able to satisfy my appetite for reading adventure but somehow ministered to my spirit. The latter part of the book I was reading in the morning and found tears rolling down my cheeks. Not even sure why but it felt good on the inside.

I was gripped from start to finish! It was such a great book and has so much relevance to what is happening in the world today. Although the book is classed as 'fictional', it is not really fiction as Parker went into so much detail into how the underworld truly operates.

Unfortunately I was not a good prayer, but after reading Parkers book I have ...
This was the first book I have read by Parker Hudson and I couldn 't put it down. Unfortunately I was not a good prayer, but after reading Parkers book I have come to realize how important prayer us in this chaotic world we live in. We cannot live as Christians without God sustaining us otherwise we fail miserably and Parkers book brought home how we cannot do this without prayer, praying about everything. I loved theway the book showed two ways to live, one without Jesus and one with Jesus, what a difference, what an eye opener, I would recommendthis book to everyone who wants to know how to survive as a committed Christian in this world.
