Pop & LockPL9772 Remote Keyless Entry Lock Kit for Truck Cap and Tonneau Cover

I have a Leer XL100 cap on a 2020 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E. I bought the Pop & Lock Keyless Remote Entry Kit and the Handle. My experience with the P&L kits and handle was excellent. The Ridgeline tailgate lock is tied into the remote-activated door lock system. I found a YouTube video which clearly described how to expose the tailgate inner workings. I decided to tap into he lock/unlock wires in the tailgate instead of one of the fuse boxes toward the front of the vehicle, so I wouldn’t have to run wires under the vehicle where they’d be expose to the elements. Using a 12 volt probe, I identified the lock and unlock wires in the tailgate and then ran the P&L wires through the driver-side taillight housing and up into the cap. The handle itself is very high quality - better, I think than the original Leer handle. I didn’t have to cut or disconnect/reconnect the cables from the original handle. I was able to simply slip off the piece that the cables connect to and then reinstall on the P&L handle. I put everything back together and it works like a charm! No more fishing out any keys every time I want to lock or unlock the cap rear hatch window. The kit is high quality and everything I needed was included. It’s so nice to have a project work out perfectly!

After years of frustration with the locking mechanism on my Leer camper shell, I decided to give this product a shot. After 6 weeks if use I am happy to report...IT IS AWESOME! I installed this on a 2015 F150 Platinum... installation on the shell was super simple and fast, but the truck side was more time consuming (3 hours) than anticipated, mainly because of difficulty with accessing the appropriate wires. Instead of the wire bundle in the door chase as recommended, I chose to pull the door boot and splice directly behind the connection. Everything works perfectly...I wish I would have known about this product years ago! Instant frustration mitigator and great piece of mind knowing that the shell is locked whenever the truck is. So convenient, hands down the best truck accessory ever made.

Item is listed as "universal" which is certainly is not. Manufacturer information on what this will work with is nonexistent. Installation instructions are nonexistent. Overall a very poor product experience.

Added to my 2016 GMC Sierra Denali 1500 with a Century cap. Was a perfect fit. Installation was incredibly easy, but the wiring will depend on your individual truck. The wires will not "plug and play" regardless of what you drive- you will need to know basic electronics to get the right wiring.I opened the access panel on the inside of the back tailgate to access wiring. I already had power locks for the tailgate. If you do not, you may have to wire it into the nearest doorlocks.Overall I am extremely pleased. Never need a separate key for the cap, and I know it's locked when I hit the remote.

Easy install once you find the correct wires.

This little gadget works great. I installed it on my Leer 100XL camper shell that’s on my 2016 F-150 and it works perfectly. The installation was super easy. You could run the two wires to the front of the truck like the instructions suggest or if your tailgate locks with the remote, just tap into the tailgate wire harness. That’s what I did and it made the installation a breeze.

Great addition to my Leer topper. Didn’t need any additional parts. One thing that would be nice is to Offer the pins for the connectors on the leer fuse box to clean up the wiring. Works like factory. If you are considering this, order it now. You won’t regret it

Installed on my 100XL topper along with the F150 tailgate lock kit.Tip: forget trying to pick up the wires in the doorsill. Just pull off the back door panel and grab wires at the door lock actuator. Not going to put colors because the differ by year and model of F150.So nice to have lock control of the tailgate and cap from the fob and the keypad!

Just finished installing this on a snug top pro lock, a little tricky but went in well...you have to remove the entire lock as the space to install is quite tight...managed to get a small screw installed on the left side of the lock, but after going to the dealer saw that even they did not install it....

This pop and lock product works but the install instructions that you have to go online for are horrible. Ikea furniture have better installation instructions included in the box. And even though I had checked all available resources and it said it should work with the lock I had, it doesn't as my cover was made before 2011 and has a larger lock on it.
