This is a high quality and heavy granite mortar and pestle with just the right amount of roughness to do the job. I received the set as a gift and noticed a chip in the head of the larger pestle during the seasoning process. That is the only reason I did not give five stars. I have requested a replacement pestle and will re-rate when/if I receive a replacement. ChefSofi responded to my request within 24 hours and just a few days later I received a replacement pestle. Very impressive. I highly recommend this set. Not only is is very functional, it's also beautiful. And, the customer service is the best I've experienced. Very impressed. Totally worth five stars!

This product is AWESOME. I am amazed by how heavy/sturdy it is and the pestle made muddling a pineapple no work at all compared to what I was doing! A really solid product!

This is a great utensil! It’s big enough to make guacamole, crush garlic and many other things. I actually used it to make mofongo! Ummmmm, Yammy! :)

The mortar and pestle set is great. The 1.5 cup size is prefect for my needs. I've used smooth marble versions and have never achieved a fine grind. Be sure to cure the mortar it is easy and the mortar dries so fast. I appreciate the small recipe book, not so much for the order of addition of various ingredients. I look forward to many years of use.

“Developed and designed in Germany” Made in China. Nice heavy item, but insanely had to be sent all around the world to get to the UK. The highest rated mortar and pestle, proudly states developed and designed in Germany with their flag colours on the ad, however it is made in China. Along with everything else. I feel foolish to have proudly stated Germany. Somewhat misleading, no? I’m sure it will function as intended, however it is a gift and so I shall not be using it myself. I’ll be handing it over in shame however, and embarrassedly coming clean about the origins of the item. Feel a bit tricked. State clearly where it comes from, don’t try and pass it off as German made on first glance.

Très beau mortier, lourd et solide, fait très bien le travail. Il faut cependant mettre un sous-plat antidérapant dessous si on ne veut pas abîmer son comptoir. Il aurait été bien que le fabricant pense à mettre une matière antidérapante sous le mortier. À ce prix, je suis satisfaite de mon achat.

Es ist eine Anleitung dabei, wie der Mörser zum ersten Mal benutzt werden soll - das anzuwenden schützt sicher das schöne Stück ist aber echt mühsam! Sonst ist er einfach klasse! Unterschiedliche Stößel Größen machen das arbeiten vergleichsweise angenehm. Wir machen damit Pesto
