Essentials of Osborn's Brain: A Fundamental Guide for Residents and Fellows

Frustrated with Essentials paper quality and blurry font compared to larger Osborn's 2nd edition.
The essentials book is essentially a watered down version the larger Osborn's second edition (I have both) but there is a large difference in terms of the printing and image quality as the essentials book typefont is slightly blurry and the paper is thin and feels cheap (probably to cut costs).DON'T PURCHASE THIS REFERENCE IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON BUYING AN OSBORN'S TEXTBOOK. INSTEAD BUY THE LARGER OSBORNS 2ND EDITION TEXTBOOK/LARGE RED BOOK. The quality of the paper feel and text/print of the larger osborns is much much better. As of August 2020, the price of the essentials is approximately $100, while the osborn's is $200, after price reductions. However as the quality is so much worse in the essentials, it feels like the large osborns is 5 times better than the essentials but only twice the price. In fact, I can hardly read the essentials book due to the poor printing and it is rather annoying to read/look at.I now use the essentials book to prop up the base of my diag monitors instead.

Amazing book
This book is amazing and the resident curriculum makes it a very manageable read. Should be in every radiology resident’s repository.
