If you love fried chicken but don’t like the mess or all of the oil, give Dixie Fry a try and use the Baking method. I have used this coating on fish, pork, and chicken and it comes out so delicious without the oil or mess. I even take cornish hens, split them open, coat with Dixie Fry, place on baking sheet lined with foil (less mess), and bake as directed. You can also add some other spices to it like chipotle, garlic, onion, or whatever you like. I have been using this for more than 20 years, and have never had a failure. This product delivers in the baking of chicken and such to taste like fried. In fact, I like it better!

I can't believe I found it!I My mom used to use it and trained me well. (I'm 77, so you can figure how long it's been around.) It's great for chicken (especially livers), fish, beef liver, and anything else you dredge before cooking. Trust me -- it's great -- give it a try!

Two of the six boxes were damaged, but the contents (2 packets) were intact. I've used this product for years. Mix with beer to the consistency of thin pancake batter. KEEP ice cold and then fry. Wonderful for fish filets. Difficult product to find at local stores. Highly recommended.

My mother used Dixie Fry when I was a child and it was even better than KFC. It's been many years that have passed and I'm glad it is available again. Believe me the flavors in this mix are very good.

Best coating mix out there. Can no longer find in any stores. Have to spend a fortune to get it here. Worth it for us.

The absolutely the best product in its class. I couldn’t get it in stores where I moved so I tried ALL the other product that was available. How disappointed I was with them. Bad taste, doesn’t brown, greasy. Sooooo what else could I do - order from Amazon. Thank goodness I did, now I have a good supply.

Dixie fry is a very good product. The problem I had when I received the boxes is that one of the boxes was open and the ingredients were poured out of the box and in the plastic bag. Some of the other boxes were just as bad but they did spill out of the box. Other than that, I love the product. I have been using Dixie Fry for year but I can't find it in the grocery stores anymore.

We really like this but trying to get it to stay on the chicken can be a challenge. Water or egg or milk will help. comes as close to actual fryed chicken as possible, to us anyway
