Well designed and functional
Very happy with this purchase. My daughter uses this almost every day for some type of craft or school project. Without it, we'd be making trips to the local office supply store to use their cutting tool. The local supply store sells the exact same model, but at a much higher price. The blade is sharp, the design is functional and takes up a minimum of room. Works well and well priced....hard to beat.

Very Useful Home Trimmer
I'd been looking for a trimmer like this for some time now. This one is just what I wanted to trim photos, forms, etc. It does the job nicely, cleanly & quickly. It's also very good at scoring card stock for the occasional greeting card. With the limited use I'll be giving it the blades should last a long while, but it's good to know they can be easily replaced. The price for the the trimmer is certainly another positive, as well.

The blade got dull after a few cuts
Pros: It's portable and convenient. The swing ruler is a great feature that's missing in other similar products. Great for office or personal use.Cons: The blade got dull after a few cuts of cardstocks. This can be compromised by replacing new blades. But it doesn't really score or cut precisely... (with some practice you might be able to maneuver the cutting precision if you are good).Good for the first-timers. As for professional use, you might want to spend more on heavy-duty trimmers. It's pretty good product considering its low pricing though.

A simple, slightly bland, but functional product
Excellent product for its price. I can trim about 12 pages of standard print paper just fine. For its price, this trimmer definitely goes a long way. If you're looking for something high-end, don't expect it out of this product. Use it within its expectations, and it'll be a great companion for your desk.

don't use on anything other than printer paper!!!!!!!
used it only a hand full of times since Ive gotten it for my girlfriendblade is barely sharp at all along with not being deep enough! only use it for the lightest grade paper as possible (like printer paper)it can't cut through even basic construction paper with out bunching up and ruining the papercompletely ruined a art project she was making for schoolstick to a metal ruler and xacto knife!!!** so since i'm stuck with this now i've been experimenting on how to make it usable- the blade doesn't seem to go into the groove deep enough so save junk mail and other scrap paper to move what you want cut closer the blade-also be sure to firmly hold what you want cut in place

Good for light use, NOT for precision trimming
I purchased this for light card-making use and to trim the occasional small batch of home-printed invitations. I have used paper trimmers like this in the past and the blade seems to wear down much faster if you try to cut more than 1 piece of paper at a time. It's a $10 paper trimmer - so even though it SAYS it can cut multiple pieces at once, it's not a good idea. For the basic small scrapbook or card-making project, it works fine. Vellum, 80lb card stock, photos - I have no complaints, but then again I knew what to expect from a $10 paper trimmer with a slide blade. I know that if you are trimming something like an invitation where you have to precisely cut the white off of a side and you accidentally leave a little white, an attempt at a close-trim is going to make a messy shred of the edge - especially as the blade wears down. That really isn't why I deducted 2 stars. I took off 1 star because lining up your paper with the trench where the blade runs is really hit-or-miss. You have to have a good eye, some practice, and not expect it to be too precise. Again, OK for card-making or scrap-booking, not so much for precision trimming. Actually I will only count that as half a star. The other star and a half was deducted because if you line up your paper with the edge on the left side above and below the blade trench, this does NOT cut a straight line. I learned this trying to cut out full-color invitations printed on white card stock. I had to use the measuring grid lines on the board to line up the paper - that was the only way I could get a perfectly straight line. But since that is totally visual, it took quite a while to get them all cut to perfection (and I am a perfectionist). I'm pretty annoyed about the straight line issue, but as I said before I didn't have great expectations for a $10 trimmer, and I only need it for light use, so I can make do. It does, after all, cut paper.

Cuts cutting time in half!
Ok, so I used to spend HOURS cutting things for my business. I had no idea how much time I was wasting using a pair of scissors to cut a straight line. Not to mention that I was cramping up my hand.So I ordered the Westcott Paper Trimmer. It cut my time in half (haha, puns!). But seriously, this thing sheers through paper like a hot knife through butter. It cuts straight lines very well. The only caveat to this machine is that you have to be careful how you line up the paper. The grid lines aren't very helpful, unfortunately. After a few tries, I got pretty good at eyeballing it. Now I can slide the paper under the guard and zip through the paper without trouble. It even cuts through card stock well, although I will say that depending on the poundage of the cardstock, it might create a bit of a bent cut, causing the paper to have a bit of a lip, but that isn't an issue for me.Overall, I would recommend this cutter for the cost!

Buy this cutter.
accurate and easy to use. the flip out ruler helps make longer cuts. fits 12x12 paper. many scrapbooking sites recommend this as a low cost, feature rich cutter, and they are right. even works well on heavily embossed and textured papers. and the scoring head is a lifesaver! would recommend this to anyone working with paper.

Five Stars
Great for cutting photos, although only cuts one at a time.

Good product
I bought this as the first one I bought didn't have an extendable ruler and I am very pleased with it☺ It makes it a lot easier and faster to cut things when you don't have to measure them first!
