Will probably give one of the sticks to an elderly relative that refuses to use a cane (but really needs to). Maybe he’ll take a liking to this classy stick. One good stick is enough for me. I usually wait longer to write a review as something might occur during use to change my opinion. I don’t anticipate any future problems. This is a metal stick that does exactly what it was designed to do. Didn’t want or need the anti shock feature, but it’s there and it works well. Thought the anti shock would make the stick feel ‘spongy’ but it does not. At 6’ and 185 lbs I can put all my weight on a stick extended to the full 54” and there is no flex. The length lock holds position. When collapsed, the stick is easy to strap on a mountain bike. The stick works great when climbing AND DESCENDING unstable hill surfaces like baseball size rocks on a loose sand base. Started off using the rubber tip, but realized the rubber tip wasn’t going to last long in the rocks. Switched to the tungsten spike and all is good. Removed the wrist strap. Nothing wrong with the strap, just something I don’t use. The knob on the top makes it easy to grip the stick without the strap. In the fully collapsed position, the stick makes a good (legal) self defense tool to keep in your vehicle. The sticks in the pictures look yellow and some reviewers mentioned yellow poles. The sticks I received are a rich copper/gold color. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Solid! *by K***E on Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2017* Hell of a buy!I picked up two pairs of these recently as I wanted an economical solution for some Spring/Summer/Winter hiking/snowshoeing and figured I'd gamble on a less expensive set of trekking poles. Needless to say, these do not disappoint! So far we've done about 20 miles in the last 2 weekends of snowshoeing throughout the Desolation Wilderness near Lake Tahoe. These have performed well in every way, and at times, have even performed tasks they weren't designed for (namely acted as a tripod for my camera so we could take some timed shots.) I have a nicer set of carbon trekking poles that cost more than 3x of what a pair of these cost, and it's only advantage is that they're a bit lighter. That said, the grips on these Trek Pro poles are nicer, and don't constantly slide down requiring adjustment.In short, they're an inexpensive, relatively lightweight, durable, comfortable set of poles that have quickly grown on me. I gave them 4 stars only due to the paint/ink used to mark the lines/lengths coming off when damp. I've resolved this by simply etching the 135cm marks into the aluminum, but that doesn't really make them any less usable and was only a brief inconvenience. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars excellent value for our annual national park trip *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2016* After years of vacationing in U.S. National Parks, and struggling a bit on elevation climbs, I bought 2 pairs for my wife and I to use on our recent trip to Banff and Jasper. The poles made it much easier for us to trek up and down several medium/strenuous trails. We are not in great physical shape nor are we "true" hikers, but we do spend a lot of our vacation time on trails. We used them on 3 long hikes...averaging 7 - 10 miles round trip. The poles held up great and made our climbs and descents much easier. The grips are comfortable and the indicator lines on the shafts made it easy to collapse and rest our poles to our desired lengths. They easily collapsed and extended, and fit diagonally into my large suitcase with room to spare. They are lightweight (didn't add to excessive luggage weight) and the lock mechanisms never slipped while in use. Excellent value and quality for the occasional /seasonal hiker.
