Microsoft Project 2010 Step by Step Review: It'll get you there - Amazing - a book from Microsoft that is written for the non-techie, easy to follow and use. If you have project design experience and need to use this as a tool in your project management, highly recommended. Just start at the beginning and follow it through. Takes time, but MS Project is not intuitive in a lot of places, and there are sequential steps in the text presentation that make life a whole lot easier. Makes MSP usable from the start, and you go only as far as you need to go. The more complex is added as you go along, so you can get up and running and familiarized, stop anywhere along the path. Side tabs make resource searching simpler once you have a little background in how the book is arranged. Good guide through the learning journey, excellent long term reference for MSP Standard. Did not use with Pro. Review: The best book to learn MS Project - I have this book and two others ("Microsoft Project 2010: The Missing Manual" and "Microsoft Project 2010 Inside Out") but to learn the software this is undoubtedly the best one. This book presents the theory very well explained and than, immediately presents an exercise where we can use what we have just learned. The other two are "too much" theory and in the end are boring and unproductive. In a nutshell, using this book it is possible to learn the software naturally because it is really a step by step book with a real project to be developed. I think the two others are more dedicated for people that has a very good knowledge about MS Project and needs some material to make consults.

Good hands-on book
Great book for getting used to MS Project 2010. Not necessary a beginners book, but the book has plenty of pictures, and tips that would be helpful for a beginner. Good overview of each chapter, so it's easy to locate what you need. When buying a new book, you can download a PDF copy of the book, as well as practice files.

Indeed, Five Stars!
Indeed, this book really brings the essential elements of the various features of MS-Project, which are important for day to day and for certification. I used this book as the basis for my certification that I took this month (October 2011) in MCTS - Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist - Microsoft Project 2010, Project Management. It is true that I used another book Microsoft Project 2010 Standard and Professional (Portuguese Edition [Kindle Edition], but he functioned as a review (and a great review!). This second book is in Portuguese language, I just said this to you because if you do not want to get any kind of training - like me - it is better to try two books on the same subject, in this case, Ms-Project. Yes, I took the certification in the first attempt and 90% of the right questions. Best Wishes.

MS Project 2013 - "Step by Step" manual
I bought this book to try and update my project management skills. There have been ten releases of MS Project since I last used that software. This manual helps quite a bit although it is designed to be used with a CD (which was not included in the used copy that I bought) and the software itself which cost ~ $1,000.00 (which I don't own.). Still with the help of a magnifying glass I can read the screen prints used as illustrations and figure out what's going on. Not bad for $3.98.

Great Study Guide
Ordered this book to teach myslef Microsoft Project 2010. I have had no previous experience using this software. The book was awesome and easy to follow. It only took a couple of days to work through the exercises. All instructions are crystal clear. I plan on going thru the book one more time. One more time through the book and a couple of practice PM plans and I'll be ready to add this skill to my resume. I highly recommend this book. Thank you for your time.

Microsoft Project Boot Camp
This was a fantastic book for learning M$ Project. I got a new job where I was doing admin work for a PM and I had never used the software before. I blew through it in about 16 hours (2 days) and haven't looked back since. After I was done, I was showing all the PM's how to effectively use Project including some tips that they never knew. It's a lot easier than trying to fake your way through Project. I just want to note that I would not consider this as a reference. If you just want to learn a couple tips and tricks in Project, this book may not be for you. This book is for the person coming into Project fresh and who needs a crash course. There are plenty of YouTube videos that will teach you neat tricks in less time if you are already familiar with how to use Project.

more than what I expected
The title says it all...Step by Step. This guide is exactly that. It provides a detailed yet easy-to-follow, step by step process to teaching MS Project. Perfect for the beginner(me)as well as the more advanced student who wishes to brush up on seldom used features of this program. Highly recommended.

A nice book and very helpful. The only (major) problem is that MS Project is very buggy. I had to abandon my project in MS Project 2010 and use Excel instead as my organisation only runs MS Project 2010 and Project 2013 is equally as buggy so no point pushing for an upgrade. I would look at other software before committing the MS Project 2010 as it is difficult to ascertain if the problem is you or the software. However the book provides a good grounding in Project management principles.

Assolutamente consigliato!!!
