Awesome tachometer for the price
Awesome tachometer for the money. Super simple install - just wrap the one wire around the spark plug wire 5 times. Seems accurate and easy to use. Ruckus is a single cylinder 4 stroke and should have been the 1P2R setting but it read super high. So went back to the stock setting of 1P1R and works great. Really meant to be a tuning tool and not so much a check all the time tool as you canโt see it at night - have to press the button to light it up. Not a big deal but just be aware.

Love these
Bought for a brand new Yamaha SuperJet but doesnโt work because it has coil packs and thereโs no way to wrap the wire. Turns out I needed one for our 1989 WaveRunner because the last runleader hour meter got submerged in water for too long. Works great for keeping hours and watching the rpms. The 1989 is carbureted. You have to know the rpms to adjust the carb. I have runleader digital tachs on multiple motorcycles. I have one that also has a temp probe for water temp on a BMW motorcycle.

It works, mostly
Hey, it's an inexpensive tachometer that fairly accurately records engine speed on small motors. I like the fact that the battery is replaceable (some out there are not and so only good for a few months and then tossed in the trash), it's backlit on your terms (on/off/intermittent). What I would like to see improve is a bit more length in the cable (it barely made it to the sparkplug wire on my Yamaha golf cart) and a clamp at the end to go around the spark plug wire to pick up the signal. Wrapping the wire around works at about a 90% frequency and accuracy rate. They tell you that fewer or more coils around the wire let you fine tune the rpm readout - nope, makes no difference at least on the single cylinder 4 stroke in my Yamaha. But hey, it's inexpensive so expecting too much is unrealistic.

Lots of features backlit display
Really nice. Backlight display and changeable battery. Real time rpm. Easy to install. I put the settings to 4 stroke single cylinder and I was getting 7000 rpm. Not realistic needs to be half that so I played with the number of windings then changed the settings to default 1 cylinder 2 stroke and it worked fine.

Works great as an hour meter. Tach function doesn't work.
I only wanted an hour meter so it works for me. The tach function might work on larger engines but on small single cylinder engines it is only accurate within plus or minus five or six thousand rpm. Also, when the engine is running you can only see the wildly inaccurate tachometer function not the hours.

Great tach/hourmeters.
They work great and last!

Screen very dim.
Got this installed. Removed plastic from battery and observed that the screen digits look washed out. Can hardly see them. Going to try a fresh battery and see if that helps. Update: It's not the battery. It's the screen orientation. If I turn the unit upside-down then I can see the screen digits. This is crazy! It's useless like this.

Great value.
Got to have this for your go kart, mini bike, etc. Very easy to read, accuracy is off by +- 150 rpms, but I've seen worse, this product is good for quick and easy installation, as far as accuracy, it depends on how many winds you put on spark plug wire, have a pro tach. to get it close to accuracy. I'm totally happy with this product.

A very useful upgrade for a portable sawmill
This is a nice hour meter/tach that was easy to install on my portable saw mill. Extremely useful on a mill with a smaller HP motor as it allows you to maximize your rpm to get a good cut with the mill.

Nice litle thing
It's a nice little thing that works very well. Easy to use and install. But I still have a little question for the manufacturer: What is wrong with you? That inductive cable is way too short! Obviously, this device is very useful in marine applications, as an add-on for the outboards who does not have a tachometer. However, the best/safest (rain-free) place for installing it is somewhere on the transom or near the boat commands. For transom installation, the cable should be at least 10 feet long, to easily allow steering and tilting. For installation near the boat commands, the cable should be like 20 feet. The most commonly used cables for acceleration have 20 feet. Boaters would like to strap this inductive wire on the acceleration cable ( follow the same route ). I gave 5 stars because I knew the cable is short from the beginning. It's not like I have been tricked. I had to hide the device inside the junction box, where I cannot see it without rising the lid. Still good for diagnostic and maintenance schedules.

Isn't accurate down to the single rpm, but works well!
I used this tachometer on my 4 stroke dirtbike since it doesnt have one, works super well and lets me know if I'm revving too high. Installation was super simple, wrap the cable around the spark plug, set how many cylinders you have and boom it works! It measures rpm by 10s, so 2820 2810 2800. I would guess it's accuracy is about 30-50rpm+/-, its probably more accurate than that but mine likes to go up and down by that many rpm while its idling. It supports 2 and 4 stroke engines and engines that range from 1-16 cylinders. The screen is easy to see even during daylight as with more light it gets brighter due to the screen type, there is also a button for a light which brightens the screen in case your working on something at night. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to keep track of their engines rpm.

Works well, but you need to manually turn it off.
This works very well and appears to be accurate. While it's supposed to have automatic off when not in use, this doesn't seem to work. After using it several times, I noticed hours later that it's still on. I have to press the 2 buttons together to force it to turn off. Other than that, it's good.
