We ordered this roof basket in a pinch so we could carry passengers in a full SUV and stow luggage atop, and were impressed that it arrived sooner than stated. A bit disappointed when we took it out of the box to find a half dozen areas where the powder coating had been scuffed off. The fact that these areas were all where luggage would scrape makes us question whether we got a used product. The basket assembled easily, but securing it to the roof rack was difficult and, frankly, would be beyond the abilities of many people. The problem was that, of the eight threaded bolts, three were so miscut that it was impossible to turn down the nuts without the use of pliers. The others took a good 5-7 minutes of earnest twisting to secure. Once down it was nice and stable. I will remove these and replace with lock washers and hex nuts that I can remove with a ratchet wrench in a few minutes, and will touch up the scuffed areas so the basket won't rust (hence the low and questionable "Weatherproof" rating). Ultimately, I can remedy all of the shortcomings of this product, but really shouldn't have to. Had we not needed it quickly, it would have been returned the next day. [14 Jan 2020: While my opinion of the product is unchanged, the company did today issue a full refund and offered a discount on a future purchase. This was appropriate and decent of them.]

Completely unacceptable. It came with multiple scuff marks and came late and also came without instructions. I would return but need this to transport things for work and can't wait.
