TL;DR: This metal wrench is more durable and has a longer trip which made removing this thing a breeze and within 15 seconds I got it loose and replaced. It's the right 5.9" size and fits perfectly. Get it. Your happiness will return. And check any forum and they bring up the same dumb suggestions: Did you try to leave the water off? Did you push the depressurization button? Did you leave a faucet open? Did you try to use petroleum jelly? Did you apply even but firm pressure? Did you try turning it off and on again? It worked for my PC! ...YES I DID! For three years it has been a struggle and after 15 minutes of work I was able to with the craptastic plastic wrench. But this solution finally decided to peace out on me and the wrench broke as did my hopes and dreams. But then someone saw the problem and thought of instead of you trying to MacGyver a PVC pipe, some matches and glue to unscrew a filter how about we make one out of solid metal and Made In Murica? So they did. Everything about this thing screams quality and I was able to get it loose with so much more ease. So to all those out there with the sense to have a whole house water filter because their town is too cheap to filter it for you (but not cheap to make you pay taxes for it), have a bit more sense and get it. It works, it makes your life easier and you get to go EWWWW when you see your filter a lot sooner when you start. And let's be honest; that's half the reason why we do this.

This my fire is the greatest water filter wrench I’ve ever used in 30 years. Wish I found it decades ago. No more struggling or breaking the cheap plastic wrenches, that come with the whole house water filters. Excellent product highly recommend.

I'll give it four stars- it's been good to me but for some reason my filter is hard to take off so I have to use a cheater bar. We'll, because it's so tough to get it off I have to really rip on it, resulting on way too much force for the wrench to handle. It would be nice to have a heavier, stronger metal or maybe a two handle wrench to pull and push at the same time.

This is a good product. It's made of thick metal, and its long arm gives you great leverage, especially when something is a bit stuck and needs some real twist. Also nicely finished.

My filter housing was really stuck. The last time I changed the filter I over tightened the filter housing because it was leaking. It turns out the o-ring was not properly set. I suspected this was the case and I ordered new o-rings, but I digress. With the original plastic "wrench" I was not able to free up the filter housing and was fearful it would break in my hands. With the Superb Wrench I was surprised at how easily I was able to free up the filter housing. The right tool makes quick work of the job. I recommend this tool.

Its was exactly as described but a bit too small ( my fault). I know it would have worked perfectly if it had fit. Just take an accurate measurement before purchasing. Just put another one on order

Works better than the plastic wrenches. Watch the sizing. I have 2 blue filters and this only fits one of them

Long handle allows for decent torque. Since it's metal you can use an extension for a little more torque. Can't speak for longevity but it is metal. Only fits my BB and not my Aqua-Pure even though they are both 4.5 x 10 filter housings. Suggest you make sure you order the right one.
