Hogue OverMolded Rubber Grip for 1911 Government Models with Finger Grooves

I have been a firearms buff for years and an FFL, so i've been around a lot of guns. I have a Springfield 1911 Loaded and love the rosewood grips. Then I bought these Hogue grips! They give me 10 times the feeling of control and stability over the wood grips, with the perfect amount of rubber stickiness, along with the finger grooves. The grip of the gun is not very slightly larger than before, which my medium-sized hands welcome. This adds to providing more control and makes the gun feel like a whole new firearm--one that should have been made like this from the outset. I couldn't be more happy with these grips, as you will too.

Gives a whole new feel to my old Thompson 1911 45 acp. Molds to your fingers and it is such a great grip to this weapon. Easy to install, took me less than 5 min, and I should have bought these years ago. Rubber is durable, came in time packaged well, and regarding placement, don’t tighten down all the screws till it’s completely snapped over. If worse comes to worse, heat up rubber with a blow dryer(warm to the touch) to give you elasticity. Holes lined up well, color looks like it was specifically made for my 45, and the appearance just changes and updates the look. Great value… (I’d show pictures, but Amazon AI kicked back my review because I showed a handgun. Well duhhh… these are GRIPS for a Handgun. You want me to show them on a lawnmower???). Just tried the edit and added the picture..we’ll see what happens..(one last try) Well…get them. I highly -highly recommend these grips. Took my (oh hums…yeah it’s okay) to a “oh wow!!! What the:…oh man….this is really nice….”

True 1911 people love their checkered panels of all different materials. They look and feel original to the pistol. I always knew there was something even better, even a sacrifice to aesthetics. Trying this monogrip the first time made a believer out of me. Now all my 1911s sport Hogue monogrips. The fit in the hand is unbelievably comfortable and help with recoil. What is more important to me is much better control and really fast follow up shots. Absolutely no squirming in the hand or need to regrip after a few shots. The grip seems to be tough as nails as well. They take whatever I throw at them, tons of hoppys # 9 and all the grime associated with shooting. I truly believe they get even better with age and hard use. i would definitely recommend anyone trying these. The cost is more than reasonable and who knows, one might just get used to the look after experiencing the comfort and control.

I have a Kimber Stainless Target II and was first unsure if I would want a rubber grip on my gun. The Kimber has always shot great, but it felt a little funny in my hand. I have a big hand and I thought the original grip was too slender. Once I put on the Hogue Grip, I would never take it off! PROS- 1. COMFORT. My Kimber now feels amazing great in my hand. The rubber grips is very smooth and the finger grooves allow my hand to fit on perfectly. I now have a great handle on my gun and the rubber absorbs some recoil. 2. ASSEMBLE. The Hogue grips were very easy to put on. For my Kimber, all I had to do was remove my original grips by removing 2 bolts with an allen wrench, then replace with the new grip. I had the news one on within 5 minutes. 3. STYLE. I think the new grip have made the appearance of my Kimber look better. I really like the look of the solid black grip on my stainless steel gun. CONS- None! I would recommend this product to anyone who feels as if their gun does not feel completely comfortable in their hands. Even if you think you gun feels good in your hand, the grips will make it feel better. Try one and you will never go without a Hogue Grip again!

This grip fit PERFECT on my Taurus PT1911 Government model. If you are looking for grip screws for these specific grips, I suggest you order the Hogue Colt & 1911 Officer's Grip Screws. Yes these screws say "officers" grip screws, but they fit my government model 1911 perfect with this grip. I ordered the black grips as my 1911 is all black and it looks great. For the Hogue grip screws I'm suggesting you use, I ordered the stainless screws (eventually I want the trigger, slide stop, safeties, barrel bushing, grip safety etc all stainless) and I'm completely satisfied with the grips as well as the grip screws. I have smaller hands and the 1911 fits my hand great, but when I fire it with the stock polymer grips it doesn't feel good on my hands. This rubber grip makes the world of difference. If only it came with a rubber adhesive that you had the option to stick just under the grip safety, where the bottom side of the beavertail part of the grip safety fits in between your thumb and pointer finger. When I shoot my 1911 this part of my hand gets sore & I think Hogue should make something like this that doesn't take away from the look of the 1911 but adds to the feel while shooting. Regardless, if you are considering getting these grips, don't hesitate. Order now. You will be thankful when they're screwed on to your 1911 and you feel the cushioned grip, not to mention it looks great in my opinion. Thank you Hogue!

Installation: buy longer grip screws (factory grip screws too short), heat grip (sun, hair dryer, heat gun, boiling water, etc,), install both top screws loosely, then attempt to install both bottom screws. The last bottom screw was tough and I used a squeeze clamp to assist manipulating grip into position. Recheck all screws for tightness. I did some minor sanding/trimming around safety (on one side) and around mag well. Review: Nice grip and fits well once it's installed. Definitely makes the 1911 grip feel much more ergonomic and looks fantastic. I did do some minor trimming (wasn't necessarily) to make the grip look perfect. Overall: Love the look and feel. Wish the install went smoother, but in the end, it was worth it, I'm happy with the item.

Super impressed with this grip. I have huge hands and this grip definitely improves my handling of my 1911. Was very easy to install with my existing grip screws. (Don't forget your loctite!) Also, love the new look of it. Doesn't look like your grandpa's 1911 anymore.

These grips are simply amazing; sure wood grips look great, but these are functional. They fit my hand perfectly, and help me get a 1" grouping with my 1911 Blowback bb gun (first time shooter, long time enthusiast).

It give a much better handling of the gun with it on the handle. For me it give a much more good looking to the 1911. Seem to be very sturdy and durable Very good price A must have for a 1911.
