I'm looking for the lift struts for my titan 04, will these be proper? Thanks very much.

I used them on my 07 titan and they fit great, I don't think they changed the design between 04 and 07 so they should work.

My front hood is so hearvy,i am worry about the strength of the strut.Are these work well on your 2005 Titan?

I bought these for my Titan and it holds my hood up firmly. The struts came with the little clips on the ends.

What's the difference between a hood strut and a hood shock?

They are the same thing. The correct name is a hood strut but they are called both by many people.

I am picky and these are better than the OEM Toyota struts.

Happy discovery, these are better than the OEM Toyota struts. These have more control of slowing and safely opening the hatch, and in the last part of the opening process, they MUCH MORE assertively raise the hatch to the maximum height. You can hear it and see it. Ease of replacement was straightforward and took less than ten minutes. The value for the money is mind-boggling when compared to the price of the Toyota OEM struts --- An enthusiastic five stars.

Works but difficult to get in place

Bought these struts to replace on 2005 Excursion rear hatch. These struts are about 3 inches longer than the OEM part and the compression is about 100lbs. I tried muscling them into place, but I guess I'm just not man enough to compress them. In the end, I used a ratchet strap to compress them to the right length for installation. Once I got the right length the end popped right into place.The rear hatch now opens with zero effort and lifts to the maximum height that the hinge allows.You need a second person to hold open the hatch with a strut removed but after figuring out the ratchet strap for compression the install took only minutes and the result is great.

Works really well. Use 3 people to get it on.

These are great. I put them on my Sienna. Now the door opens and closes. Use 3 people.These are under a lot of pressure.Cut a hole in the strap to get the top part on and then the bottom, then cut the straps.Otherwise it is very hard to compress.
